Tuskano Posted May 9, 2014 Posted May 9, 2014 Started on a new large scale build a few days ago based on a Imperial scout ship off the MMO SWG. My YT-1300 needs an Imperial rival to harass it in the shipping lanes. The sacrifice of a boxed up UCS ISD will be worth it. Estimating the scale. http://images.mocpag...421_DISPLAY.jpg http://images.mocpag...443_DISPLAY.jpg Starting the interior structure. The main room. http://images.mocpag...591_DISPLAY.jpg http://images.mocpag...602_DISPLAY.jpg http://images.mocpag...603_DISPLAY.jpg http://www.mocpages.com/moc.php/387789 Quote
AudiBobaR5-D2 Posted May 9, 2014 Posted May 9, 2014 Very impressive build so far. Never really have played SWG before, and never knew that this ship existed in the SW Universe until now. Keep up with the good build, and May the force be with you. Can't wait to see the final build. Quote
Tuskano Posted May 9, 2014 Author Posted May 9, 2014 Thanks, I tend to lean towards the lesser known ships of the SW universe. From what I have seen online, there has only been one other Decimator built before this. Quote
Fuppylodders Posted May 9, 2014 Posted May 9, 2014 Oh brilliant! You are going with a full interior as well from the looks of it? Keep us posted on the progress, I look forward to it! Quote
TWP Posted May 9, 2014 Posted May 9, 2014 I really like that ship, and I hope you will make it great! I once made a starship inspired by that ship once too. As in the end it did not look like it, I've wanted to make a proper one ever since. From the looks of it, the canopy in the front looks very much out of proportion. You might want to change that to the one of the UCS Tie advanced or even a brickbuild version. Quote
Tuskano Posted May 10, 2014 Author Posted May 10, 2014 (edited) Thank you! I wanted to try my hand at building something that was close to one or two colors. Aside from the YT, the only "large" ship I have is a multi-colored hippy Lady Luck that I had made many years ago in a big need of a overhaul. Everything else are fighters. The front window I was not planning to use. I just pulled that off TIE to have an idea where the canopy would be. Aside from the one room, everything else is a 15 minute layout to have a idea of the angles. I was thinking of trying a brickbuilt version. If that did not work, one from an older model TIE might work. But now that you mentioned the UCS, that might be better. Yea, I want to go all out with this. Edited May 10, 2014 by Tuskano Quote
Mr Man Posted May 10, 2014 Posted May 10, 2014 The wings look the wrong shape, so far yours are sloped all the way down, the ones on the picture are straight and taper at the front. Also that thing is going to be huge . Quote
Tuskano Posted May 10, 2014 Author Posted May 10, 2014 Lol, they are actually the top panels of the ISD with a corner taken off. I was very lazy, but it will be fixed :D It will be big, but the better part is this will be more achievable than my last big ship designs. Going to get hot on it over the weekend! Quote
Tuskano Posted May 11, 2014 Author Posted May 11, 2014 More to the bottom deck. Just building this is bringing back all sorts of good memories. http://images.mocpag...501_DISPLAY.jpg http://images.mocpag...512_DISPLAY.jpg http://images.mocpag...523_DISPLAY.jpg Quote
Tuskano Posted May 27, 2014 Author Posted May 27, 2014 An update. Strengthened the bottom, added a cargo hold under the middle room, and put landing gear on it. Those might be too high... but I have a stable ship to work on now. Also reorganized my room to get more floor space. http://images.mocpages.com/user_images/84377/14011596742_DISPLAY.jpg http://images.mocpages.com/user_images/84377/14011596765_DISPLAY.jpg I also sacrificed the yacht. http://images.mocpages.com/user_images/84377/14011596754_DISPLAY.jpg You can also find more pictures on my mocpage of this. http://www.mocpages.com/moc.php/387789 Quote
Mr Man Posted May 27, 2014 Posted May 27, 2014 Looking good, I like the size of the interior, nice and roomy. Quote
markus1984 Posted May 27, 2014 Posted May 27, 2014 Looks stunning! A really big, big ship you build! Doesn`t know the VT-49 Decimator but think your version is very good and looks similar the original. markus Quote
