I've seen it before, but it never went into production as far as I know. I've been working on a similar device, which is open source.

I see they haven't used the logo anywhere but surely the pf connector is proprietary? There have been a few home brew projects like this and I wish TLG would pick it up because it would expand the mindstorms platform very nicely. Much more useful than the IR-link.
