BiohazardRacer Posted April 23, 2014 Posted April 23, 2014 (edited) Hi guys A while ago I showed you my 3 axled Daf cranetruck that was pretty ok, but I wasn't to happy with its dimensions. The crane was a bit to big for the triple axled chassis so i decided to rebuild the truck so it would fit better by the crane. The front part of the chassis is heavily rebuild and a second steering axle is mounted. I've kept the crosstab stabilizers but made them 2 studs longer, the crane itself has got a bigger/longer jib to get more reach and height however it lifts hardly anything. I have made some time to detail the truck to get closer to the real thing. The pictures I also made the wheel arches 1 stud wider, but due to the leg of yellow pieces I couldn't make the cabin 2 studs wider second steering axle Between the front axles i´ve made 2 air boilers and on the right side its exhaust is fitted Unfolding Max height: 1.06 meter Max reach: 95CM The BB lays down beside the crane where a oil tank, oil filter and 2 big coolers are added I think its a big improvement now, its difficult to make a real looking truck in this scale with technic but I'm real happy with the result. Any comments, tips and advice is well appreciated. Tnx guys Edited April 23, 2014 by BiohazardRacer Quote
EV3Noob Posted April 23, 2014 Posted April 23, 2014 With such a thin boom, is it able to lift anything at all? Maybe some pics with a load? Quote
BiohazardRacer Posted April 24, 2014 Author Posted April 24, 2014 Well the simple answer is no , it doesn't lift anything. Well maybe when its a few gram but I didn't designed it to lift things, it is more a static model with working functions . I'm just plane crazy about trucks and loadercranes. Quote
