Tom Jurassic Posted April 21, 2014 Posted April 21, 2014 "Okay Rogues, listen up! This rock-face hides the secret Imperial mines and command bunker which we are aware is hidden on the planet. There is a ventilation vent that can be blown off, allowing for access. Be careful, the walls and watchtower above pose a threat and are impregnable. If you are caught, the Imperial shocktroopers will tear you apart. Good luck!" Please check out the LDD File. All Feedback is welcome. Zone Ep IV MOC.lxf Quote
Lego Spy Posted April 21, 2014 Posted April 21, 2014 Umm... Is this your entry to the fourth episode of SoNE? Because the deadline was the 17th... Otherwise, it looks pretty good! Quote
BEAVeR Posted April 22, 2014 Posted April 22, 2014 That's nice, although I'm a little bit glad that this didn't make it to the deadline, since it's already such a tight call... And with those pretty rocks, you might've changed the outcome! I really like the slope pieces you used there. It's a pitty you used those obvious BURPs then... more of those slope pieces would have been better, and you could even have placed them vertical to gain some height more quickly. The lava is nice, especially because you went for an irregular border. Try enhancing this effect by laying some edge plates over them, so that it looks less like a canal, and more like a dangerous flow of lava. Some more plates on different hights would give some nice texturing. That white Imperial wall seems... rather hard to clean with those volcanic ashes. Kidding, what I wanted to say is that it looks quite bland. Adding some ribs, vents... any kind of texture would make it look better. You can age it if you want to, because it is in a very hostile environment. So it woudl'nt surprise if some edges have crumbled off or so. The inside is quite... Spartan as well. It's very nice you used some color to break all the white and black up. But one side of the wall of the corridor is decorated, the other isn't. You could add some tubes and shafts there. The control room at the top is nice, but with those windows it's very hard to look what's happening right in front of the wall. Tilting those windows a little bit forward would help here. Also, some kind of cannon whcih can be controlled from the inide would make sense. The bottom part of the base benefits from the extra slopes you added there. you might even add some more, because that's the kind of texture I'm talking about. Those boulders, however do look a bit strange, just lying around there. The small console is sweet, but placing the screens on a certain height would already enhance the working comfort of those officers greatly. Finally, that ventilation shaft looks great, bit it's a pitty it doesn't continue in the upper section or across the roof of the lower section. Now it just kind of ends... But still, a very nice addition. Quote
Mr Man Posted April 22, 2014 Posted April 22, 2014 My only suggestion would be that some way of getting up to the top part of the tower would be good, as it stands I think the Stormtroopers will have to balance on each others heads to get in . Quote
Tom Jurassic Posted April 22, 2014 Author Posted April 22, 2014 Thanks for the Feedback everyone! Shame I missed the deadline, but I am still experimenting with LDD to be honest! BEAVeR, an extra thank you for your tips, as I will take them forward into the next Episode! Quote
