v6TransAM Posted April 20, 2014 Posted April 20, 2014 Recently won a 40+ pound lot on ebay. Was kind of a gut feel/what the heck moment since the auction ended midday. Surprises found so far: Very little non Lego pieces Multiple track pieces (plastic pf style) 2 long train plates(orange) and pieces(good amount so far) from the TGV creator set Super Duper Find: Doors(from pass car w/ stickers) and bricks in the colors of the Emerald Night(I'm praying, my little guy would flip if its all or mostly there) This is only from sorting thru the easy stuff at the top of the bag. Ton of Star Wars stuff, some Bionicle, lots of the weird late 90's early 00's space stuff too. I will update more tomorrow as everyone else is asleep and its difficult going through a glorified garbage bag with 40+ pounds of Lego in it. I will be sorting them out and running them thru the bath with the 4 yr old. Itching to see what else might be here, especially train wise with what I have found so far From looks and dust patterns, someone assembled them and kept them that way, at least the larger sets. JopieK Posted April 20, 2014 Posted April 20, 2014 indeed buying bulk pays off, we have had a good deal some years ago, some old people cleaned up their attic, were amazed that we had offer 'so much' on Ebay, when we came home we found extra train parts like a red 12V etc, so it was a very good bargain. v6TransAM Posted April 21, 2014 Author Posted April 21, 2014 Spent the morning and evening sorting Lego with the 4 yr old, at parents for Easter in between. More Horizon Express pieces, that is good. Only 2 complete wheel sets, 4 are missing the axle/wheels............................kinda bummed. No more track found and so far no more Emerald night pieces. Still have some hope, I've only gotten about a 1/3 of the way thru the massive bag of Lego. Quote
1974 Posted April 21, 2014 Posted April 21, 2014 Not ebay, but a local ad : I bought a bulk lot to get a 9V train (4564). I paid the going price and got thrown in about 40 straights, 20 curves and four switch tracks Also, the seller had a 'box of loose bricks' I could have as well That included Eldorado Fortress, BlackTron Secret Message Base, Imperial Inspection (sold that and that paid for the whole deal!), loads of HP (including the train), small pirate stuff, city/town, SW and about 5000 bricks I haven't really gone through .. Not too bad Quote
midelburgo Posted April 21, 2014 Posted April 21, 2014 I supose it is worthy if you make the time investment for going through the lot piece by piece, selecting and cleaning, the guts to stand badly misstreated Lego and the willpower to send Lego parts to the rubbish bin. Quote
1974 Posted April 21, 2014 Posted April 21, 2014 Well, eventually I will sort the remaining lot into three piles .. one for the trash, one for me to keep and the rest off to my BL shop. In the end it means that I've gotten the train, all those sets and nice pile of bricks not only for free but will actually make some money out of it Would probably have cost me about 4-500EUR to purchase that lot on BL ;) Yeah, it's worth it (And I _like_ sorting out bricks, it's sooo zen) Quote
