Artanis I Posted April 15, 2014 Posted April 15, 2014 A few weeks ago my (at the time) very pregnant sister made this for me for my birthday. Only present I got, but that's what happens when you get old I suppose. Best present ever. Finally got around to taking some pictures. The paint has scratched off a bit and the "studs" bent since it was given to me, due to me taking it everywhere to show off. A cardboard box that looks like a 2x3 Lego brick But it's much bigger! Inside are jars that look like minifig heads - except much bigger! Inside those are... LOLLIES, how cool. Three jars in picture contain Skittles, (Nestle) Smarties and Natural Confectionery jellies. Mmmm dinosaurs. The other 3 had square wrapped chews, Clinkers and... the other one I forget. Possibly Jaffas. Darkdragon Posted April 15, 2014 Posted April 15, 2014 That is adorable. I love that she put in the time to find jars with minifig head proportions and curves. Quote
grum64 Posted April 15, 2014 Posted April 15, 2014 (edited) What a lovely present, creative and very thoughtful. I turned 50 in March. Like Artanis I also received homemade Lego themed treats. My Sister-in-Law made me this: Although there's no wheelchair, everyone says he's very like me. Personally, I think he's much better looking!! My Daughter-in-Law with help from Jake 6 & George 3, our wonderful Grandsons, made me this: So she didn't miss out, dear Jake & George (with a little bit of help from Mummy!) made this very special cake for my darling Wife who has several major food allergies: And thanks to my beautiful Wife I'm off to Legoland soon. Yippee! Thanks to my nearest & very dearest, I had a fantastic day. I'm a very, very lucky man. Edited April 15, 2014 by grum64 Quote

Artanis I Posted April 16, 2014 Author Posted April 16, 2014 What a lovely present, creative and very thoughtful. I turned 50 in March. Like Artanis I also received homemade Lego themed treats. Would be very stoked with that. That cake though, looks like pure marzipan... please tell me there was something beneath the icing! Quote
grum64 Posted April 16, 2014 Posted April 16, 2014 Oh yes. There was a particularly tasty sponge! Quote
rob-cubed Posted April 16, 2014 Posted April 16, 2014 Hand-made gifts are always the best! You guys have some very creative family members. Quote
visabewoman Posted April 16, 2014 Posted April 16, 2014 Lego is such a simple and easy to identify shape that it is great to make gifts that are shaped like it! If I could find the soaps I got a while back I would upload a picture, (also I am cosy on the sofa and don't want to move) Quote

Xyver Posted April 17, 2014 Posted April 17, 2014 The only way that could possibly have been a better present Artanis is if the jars were full of Lego pieces. A very inspired and thoughtful gift. Quote
Dorayaki Posted April 17, 2014 Posted April 17, 2014 (edited) Interesting. It's nice to draw some custom paints of family's minifigure version. Edited April 17, 2014 by Dorayaki Quote
