Hello my fellow builders! Does anybody have experience with mixing Duplo's and Lego in a build? It looks like a 2x2 would fit on top of a duplo stud, and it would save me some bricks on large moc's. It might even make them stronger too. I just don't want to waste money on getting some if it doesn't work:)

Thanks a lot, that was exactly what I had in mind. I guess my google-fu was mighty weak:) was planning on a city moc with an underground, and thought duplo would be ideal for creating the structures under the baseplates since only one surface of them will be visible anyway:)

Keep in mind that the height of DUPLO studs is greater than that of "regular" LEGO studs, so if you want to put them under a plate you'll need some bricks as an intermediary, since a plate isn't deep enough to accommodate the full height of a DUPLO stud inside it.

Yup. Duplo bricks are designed to be compatible with traditional Lego bricks, so that youngsters transitioning between the two can use them together at least until they have enough Lego bricks to build whatever they want. And I've seen lots of models integrating Duplo with Lego, especially for complex landscaping—using Duplo as an understructure is useful for efficiently building supports for large mountains or cliffs. Using specialized Duplo parts for their shape alone, on an exposed portion of the model, is done more rarely, but can occasionally be effective, and makes for a very unique model most of the time.
