More great additions to the originals. That ship reminds me of the Unitron Star Hawk.

Funny that you should post a hybrid SP monorail train, I'm currently working towards building a train but still haven't settled on whether it's SP1, SP2 or Ice Planet. I have the windows for each but only one train base, so I have considered doing what you've done here, except that I was only going to have 1 cell each side.

Well, now that you've posted this, it seems a bit like copying, so I think I'll hunt down another base or two and make separate trains! I already have some spare big green domes so I reckon I'll start with SP2 and build a station to go with it.

I think I will steal your idea of putting the cells sideways though, I was worried about their 6x6 footprint.

A combination monorail just made sense to me seeing as a monorail motor is one of the more expensive parts on bricklink. Also, I am in the process of planning out a large scale display for all the "good guys" of the 80's and 90's. And a combo monorail works for that. And, by all means, build a combo if you want to build a combo.

Getting two cells on each side was a trick. And keeping it narrow to fit through the 6990 and 6991 sets was key. So vertical on the SP2 cells and that meant that one of the SP cells had to go on the batter case. I will get my SP2 station up soon, it really is just a SP2 version of set 6955.

Nice MOCs, SpaceMan Nathan. I especially like the prong winged fighter, and I think as for the train, the black, blue, and trans red color scheme is really smart.

-Looks like I'm late to the comment party on all your "classic theme" updates... I'm loving that 2 pilot fighter, I'd hate to be with Blacktron and see that thing coming. Awesome stuff, keep it up!
