Hi guys,

little by little I am expanding my LOTR layout. I decided to use all the pieces from the Mines of Moria set to build the upper part of the Helm's deep and make a bit of the mountain as well. I did not use other pieces because I wanted to see if it was possible to have a nice extension without the need for buying other stuffs (I am aware there are much nicer Helm's deep around!)

Of course, since everything is work-in-progress, any feedback is welcome!

Would you suggest to use sand baseplates? I was thinking to use the green ones and add details on them. Also, what about using elves from Hobbit sets for the battle of the Helm's deep?

Try using slightly darker base plates- it will complement the darker mood of the creation.

You could put them on top of the wall or in the background and then use the Orcs from the Hobbit sets with the Uruk-Hai (not incredibly accurate, but it would increase the size of the army and give the impression of a siege.
