Does anyone else live in fear... (of new sets missing pieces)

I don't live in fear unless it is an out of production set and a very expensive piece to replace. The only set I had a problem with was Fire Brigade. Not sure if my cat ran off with a piece or it was really missing from the set. I grab a piece from my collection and continued the build. I didn't bother calling LEGO since I was underpressure to get it assembled for a new LEGO store opening.
