LegoMathijs Posted March 25, 2014 Posted March 25, 2014 (edited) Hi all, This Harry Potter layout contains several scenes from all Harry Potter books and movies. I've showed this layout at several Dutch LEGO events last three years. Every year I've build new scenes to expand the layout. Some motorized elements (clock, Hogwarts Express, Sirius Black fly on Buckbeak to escape from the Dementors and the Whopping Wilow is motorized by a NXT unit) Some scenes: The Great Hall, Dumbledore's Office, Gryffindor and Slytherin common rooms, Chamber of Secrets, Moaning Myrtle's bathroom, Forbidden Corridor, Snapes potion classroom, Hagrids Hut, Quiddich, Forbidden Forest, Diagon Alley, Hogsmeade and much more:) Dumbledore's Office Great Hall Chamber of Secrets Quiddich Dementor attack Aragog Hogsmeade Before I had break down this layout, I've forgot taken a photo of the whole layout.... More pictures at Flickr http://www.flickr.com/photos/mathijslegofan/sets/72157635664536253/ hope you like it:) Edited March 25, 2014 by LegoMathijs Quote
B Rick Posted March 25, 2014 Posted March 25, 2014 I like it! But now I wanna know what the front of the buildings look like... Quote
Ridge Montante Posted March 25, 2014 Posted March 25, 2014 Very cool layout. I love these sets. It's too bad I missed them due to my dark ages. Quote
Legoman123 Posted March 25, 2014 Posted March 25, 2014 (edited) I really love this moc. You've clearly put a lot of thought it to it and it shows. Harry Potter is still in my top five lego themes and always will be. I really hope this theme returns. Edited March 25, 2014 by Legoman123 Quote
sander1992 Posted March 25, 2014 Posted March 25, 2014 Great castle and surroundings of course. I have seen it several times at Dutch events. Quote
LegoMathijs Posted March 26, 2014 Author Posted March 26, 2014 Thanks for the nice compliments:) @B Rick: sorry, I don't have pctures of the front of the castle. At events, I've showed always the inside of the castle. Maybe in future I'll build a new one which you can see from inside and outside. Quote
B Rick Posted March 26, 2014 Posted March 26, 2014 ...Maybe in future I'll build a new one which you can see from inside and outside. By this, you mean you tore these particular scenes apart already, without taking pics? And what are these 'Dutch events' I keep reading about..? Quote
legofreak86 Posted March 26, 2014 Posted March 26, 2014 Awesome idea for a layout man! I love how all the sets seem to mash into one another to create a full castle Quote
LegoMathijs Posted March 26, 2014 Author Posted March 26, 2014 (edited) By this, you mean you tore these particular scenes apart already, without taking pics? And what are these 'Dutch events' I keep reading about..? At Flickr I've several pictures from the castle. But I've forgotten to take a picture from the front. I have to say, the inside have more details than outside. And I've build this version of Hogwarts to show the inside. And maybe in future I'll make a new one (modular, the elements can be disconnected together to look inside) and which is more in terms of mould of Hogwarts which shown in the movies. Layout was seen at: LEGOworld (2011-'12-'13 ) LEGO event at Goes and Hardenberg (2011-'12-'13) Edited March 26, 2014 by LegoMathijs Quote
LegoMathijs Posted April 1, 2014 Author Posted April 1, 2014 and modular is easier to transport Quote
Jared Posted April 12, 2014 Posted April 12, 2014 Very cool. Those Gryffindor and Slyhterin banners on the Chamber of Secrets castle remind me of the original ones. I think I still have the Gryffindor one somewhere... Quote
