kevin1990 Posted March 25, 2014 Posted March 25, 2014 (edited) It's been a while since I've build something, But slowly I'm coming out of the dark ages again. Before starting a big build I thought I'd try a few small ones. seeing as I'm a classic castle fan and love building castle moc's and creations I thought I try an add on to the 6041 and 6040 sets. So here is my first creation again in a while. A small market Bakery. Set 6040 with the Bakery add-on Watch out baker! There a thief behind you, and he's after your delicious bread! as the back few, as you can see this has the same style as the 6041 armory shop. Thanks for looking :D Edit: 31 march 2014 And the new Farmers House Edited March 31, 2014 by kevin1990 Quote
jodawill Posted March 25, 2014 Posted March 25, 2014 Nice. I like how it looks like it's over 20 years old. Quote
LAKAbricks Posted March 25, 2014 Posted March 25, 2014 Though I would more call it a MOD of 6041 Armor Shop, I think it's a great idea. It would fit perfectly to a classic castle town square or street. Never thought of that myself, but I might use the idea when I once will rebuild my castle collection. I certaily hope, we will see more classic castle styled buildings from your side, kevin1990. Quote
Brickadiergerard Posted March 26, 2014 Posted March 26, 2014 Lovely! I'm in the middle of mocing classic Castle too - kind of forced moc'ing because I can't find all the pieces for my old sets and my kids want to play with them. I used the robber face for a Wolfpack guy too. It's perfect for a slight reboot of them, as are some of the new crook faces that come in the City and Forest Police sets. I hope we'll see more of your work soon! Quote
The_Cook Posted March 26, 2014 Posted March 26, 2014 Very nice, definitely has that classic 80's feel to it. Quote
Kliq Posted March 27, 2014 Posted March 27, 2014 This is the era of Castle that I love the most. Don't get me wrong, I love the style of modern sets, especially 10193, but the simplicity of 6080 King's Castle (and all of the smaller sets that you could add to it) is awesome. -Carson Haupt- Posted March 28, 2014 Posted March 28, 2014 Nice! I like the idea of the add ons. Quote
WhiteFang Posted March 28, 2014 Posted March 28, 2014 It's nice and true to the built of Classic Castle! Love it, and it does bring back some childhood memories. Quote
Rexworth Posted March 28, 2014 Posted March 28, 2014 Watch out baker! There a thief behind you, and he's after your delicious bread! as the back few, as you can see this has the same style as the 6041 armory shop. Thanks for looking :D Watch out thief! The tree is turning on you! Great build. Quote
surixurient Posted March 28, 2014 Posted March 28, 2014 (edited) Great build. I'm receiving a second copy of black knight's stronghold soon which I will try to do some alt builds with. Edited March 28, 2014 by surixurient Quote
Hank Posted March 29, 2014 Posted March 29, 2014 Great build. I'm receiving a second copy of black knight's stronghold soon which I will try to do some alt builds with. Nice. I've just received my second copy of it as well, along with 3 6054...now i'm looking forward some more 6059! The plan is to build a wall around the 6086. Quote
surixurient Posted March 30, 2014 Posted March 30, 2014 I stuck my 6059 onto the back of 6085 (monarch's castle), it looks great as the back gate. Quote
ED-209 Posted March 30, 2014 Posted March 30, 2014 Lovely! It's completely believable as a set that TLG could have released in the '80s! Quote
kevin1990 Posted March 31, 2014 Author Posted March 31, 2014 (edited) Thanks guys! for the great replies! Also I made a new add on. A small Farmers house. I'm not se pleased about it, but I thought I's share it anyway. Thanks for looking :D Edited March 31, 2014 by kevin1990 Quote
Artifex Posted March 31, 2014 Posted March 31, 2014 All those sets (MOCs, I know!) look nice. I wish we had more add-on sets like these. Quote
Kliq Posted April 1, 2014 Posted April 1, 2014 Kevin, I love seeing your classic castle MOCs. It really makes me long for such modular sets to be released today. I'd love for you to keep at it and eventually show off a whole fortified town/castle done in this style. Quote
SirBlake Posted April 1, 2014 Posted April 1, 2014 This is great work! Anybody who likes this stuff should check out the classic MOCs by The Cook. It's great inspiration. Quote
surixurient Posted April 2, 2014 Posted April 2, 2014 thanks for the suggestion SirBlake! My new lego goal is to build all of the cook's retro mocs, plus any others that people share, like this one. Lets follow the cooks example and put [retro moc] in the title of these so we can search on that term to find all of the threads. Quote
The_Cook Posted April 2, 2014 Posted April 2, 2014 Ooooh, white timbering! Where'd you get those? <repeat to self> thou shalt not covet another mans bricks!</end repeat> As the others have said recreating the TLG style is my thing. The farmers house is nice and simple, reminds me of one of the builds from the Lego ideas book, or maybe one of the protoype photo's. The protoype sets are here: http://www.eurobricks.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=52994&hl=%20europa%20%20theme&st=0 Quote
Jimmy Steele Posted April 10, 2014 Posted April 10, 2014 This is the era of Castle that I love the most. Don't get me wrong, I love the style of modern sets, especially 10193, but the simplicity of 6080 King's Castle (and all of the smaller sets that you could add to it) is awesome. Yeah I second that. It is not only because the sets of classic castle are from my childhood, but they were easy simple and very playable. I dont like the raised baseplate castle. About the mocs: they are great addons!
