CorneliusMurdock Posted March 24, 2014 Posted March 24, 2014 (edited) Basically a pixel to stud conversion of Raccoon Suit Mario (My 5-year-old daughter calls it his "Tigger Suit"). I have a presentation at a local libraray this week and I thought introducing the kids to mosaics might be a good activity considering all the library has is basic bricks. Then I realized that I'd never done one myself and thought I had to remedy that. I needed to show an example after all, right? I have a great fondness for Super Mario 3. It was one of the first games that I ever beat on my own and I remember several snow days where my sisters and I had marathon gaming sessions. I still play it on occasion on my old NES when a fit of nostalgia takes me. It holds up surprisingly well. Edited March 24, 2014 by CorneliusMurdock Replaced blurry pic with better one. Quote

B Rick Posted March 24, 2014 Posted March 24, 2014 A classic, made out of classic bricks! ...or plates... Pixelorientated lego mosaics make perfect usericons! :) Quote
Darkdragon Posted March 24, 2014 Posted March 24, 2014 Great work! Now...to animate it. You'll just need to do 16 more of these. Quote
Lego Spy Posted March 25, 2014 Posted March 25, 2014 Nice! I always have liked Lego "pixel-art". Quote
HawkLord Posted March 25, 2014 Posted March 25, 2014 Pretty cool how it defines a couples aspects of my youth - Mario 3 and Legos. I have a great fondness for Mario 3 and clocked more hours playing that then any other NES game. I even remember scouring the guidebook for tips and tricks to get everything in the game covered and of course, powering through the game every level, marathon style. I think this looks amazing. Very well done! Quote
