jodawill Posted March 21, 2014 Posted March 21, 2014 I started this MOC during Christmas break and I hadn't touched it since until this week. (I'm currently on Spring break.) My goal is to build an entire western town with a train layout, but I don't have room to build the rest of it right now (although I have plenty of parts for it). Criticism is welcome. I'm sure there's a lot of room for improvement. Quote
krono111 Posted March 21, 2014 Posted March 21, 2014 Hey there I really like how you built it. The plants and fort is just great! I would suggest that you could improve your landscaping. There are no heights differences, no stones... krono111 Quote

If I let the road baseplates overhang a little bit, I could put two more 16x32 baseplates in the back, but I don't think that'd give me enough room to build a mountain or anything. What could I do to this without adding any more baseplates? Ha… I just noticed that I have two of the wanted posters in front of the fort. I probably should remove one of them. Quote

You don't have to add more baseplates. You don't have to do that. Just do some landscaping, (some heights difference (they're sometimes 1 plate, sometimes 2..., some little stones...)). A desert is not just flat, like anything. There don't have to be a hill or a mountain but there are little heights differences. They add a lot of dynamic. The plants are awesome. Really like them. Maybe some more of them too (I mean the cactus). krono111 Edited March 21, 2014 by krono111 Quote

krono111 Posted March 22, 2014 Posted March 22, 2014 (edited) Great! The attack adds lots of live. The two guys too and the grave too. I like how you improved it. I would suggest that you can add some 1x1 tan plates. krono111 Edited March 22, 2014 by krono111 Quote

Would you just put them in random places, or would you add them to the other plate formations somehow? Quote

Just how you want. I think in a desert there are some stones too. Aren't they? So if you want to you can put a few 1x1 round grey plates. Quote
kinggregus Posted March 23, 2014 Posted March 23, 2014 Hi Jodawill, I really like your version of the fort. It looks really nice. While I like your landscaping, if you want to add more texture to it, you can put round plates randomly. PS I am currently building a similar fort (though I can work only on the gate). I hope to be finished in a couple weeks. Quote

It's awesome! Edited March 24, 2014 by jodawill Quote
