Hi sorry for a whole topic for a little question but can you buy from lego.com (UK) and take it back to store for a refund if needed or do you need to post it back?

Hello, the best think would probably be to call them. There after sale service's number is free. I'd be curious to know.

Probably something to do with the way their refund system works... my view is, maybe if you take it to the store, then maybe the tills are down and maybe it causes problems.. just pulling at straws

I had an item ordered online (but from within the store - they were out of stock) where the associate put a quantity of 2 but I wanted 1. I phoned lego and was told I could take anything ordered online back to the store. So this is what I did (in the US) without problems.

In the U.S. you can definitely return any Lego set in store or ship it back, regardless of how you originally purchased it. This is pretty common practice with large retailers that have brick and mortar stores as well as online ones. See Lego's return policy here.

I suppose that in Europe as they ship from another country usually, it works differently (e.g. for Belgium it is sent from Germany or Netherlands).
