astakos Posted March 12, 2014 Posted March 12, 2014 hi, i know there are hundreds crawler moc, but i have worked three months to create mine, so i have to show ! don't get bored ! it's made using many parts of 9398 i wanted to give it a 60's look servo motor and old type rack for steering, pneumatic cylinder for differential lock medium motor, chain and friction for the speed shifter medium motor, pneumatic pump and autovalve for the diffs it's a crawler alpha... Doc_Brown Posted March 12, 2014 Posted March 12, 2014 There is always room for one more crawler! This is pretty good! I really like the look of it, the camera helps give a matt black styling. The tires are awesome and the bodywork is great! It seems to have good articulation as well. I checked your youtube channel, but couldn't see a video, will there be one soon? Quote
astakos Posted March 12, 2014 Author Posted March 12, 2014 thanks ! i can make a video, but the cam still remain a scrap !! Quote
unimog123 Posted March 12, 2014 Posted March 12, 2014 Nice job on the bodywork! I'm not a huge fan of the pneumatic hoses sticking out though. I would like to see a video as well. Quote
astakos Posted March 12, 2014 Author Posted March 12, 2014 @ unimog123 you are right about the hoses.. it depends of i'm undecided on the placement of the compressor.. in this placement the mass distribution is optimal, at the expense of the line.. for a better look the best place was in the trunk, but it penalize the crawling Quote
skppo Posted March 12, 2014 Posted March 12, 2014 This one looks good! Most crawlers are fugly and have simple bodywork. The proportions are pleasing too, I mean that the wheel size fits the lenght and width. Only bad thing for me is the multicolored chassis. Quote
AndyCW Posted March 12, 2014 Posted March 12, 2014 Looks great. Can't wait to see a video of performance. Is the there a center dif and lock? How many speeds in transmission? v/r Andy Quote
astakos Posted March 12, 2014 Author Posted March 12, 2014 @ skppo i know.. this is a new hobby.. i have not many parts.. and not same color parts @ AndyCW the central differential is locked by a medium motor with friction the speeds are only 2 (using the central diff gears)... low and high ! Quote
Graydingo Posted March 12, 2014 Posted March 12, 2014 Very cool looking crawler. I'm wanting to rebuild my 9398 soon. I would love to see some more detail photos of the chassis. Quote
MrNumbskull13 Posted March 12, 2014 Posted March 12, 2014 Cool crawler! The body work is great and it seems to have good functions too, keep it up. Quote
Jullian_pdx Posted March 13, 2014 Posted March 13, 2014 Nice looking crawler. It's pretty sharp with the matte black bodywork. Are the tires from Lego? If so; what's the part number? I really like them. Quote
astakos Posted March 13, 2014 Author Posted March 13, 2014 thankk you ! @ jullian: no, the tyres are this: http://thescalerstore.altervista.org/catalog/product_info.php/products_id/684 compatible on the 9398 / 8110 wheels ! Quote
