jnm7880 Posted March 8, 2014 Posted March 8, 2014 Hi fellow Eurobricks members, I am new here =) I have recently ordered the 2006 Batman (Classic Black Suit) minifig from Bricklink. Upon inspecting the figure, I noticed that there is no Lego imprint on the bottom of the foot. There is a Lego imprint on the torso joining area (in between the 2 joining knobs). I kinda conclude that the legs are China made. Is there anyone that can help me verify this with the same figure they owned? My apologies for the noob request. If I don't remember wrongly, Lego sets are only made in China in the recent years. Thanks guys. Quote
Sir Brickalot Posted March 8, 2014 Posted March 8, 2014 Uh, no, most Lego sets are not made in China, with the exception of CMFs and exclusive minifigures. Quote
jnm7880 Posted March 8, 2014 Author Posted March 8, 2014 Thanks for the reply Sir Brickalot Is there anyone that can help me verify my findings? Quote
Amset-Rah Posted March 8, 2014 Posted March 8, 2014 A lot of older minifig legs don't have imprints inside the feet. To my knowledge, Lego didn't start having parts made in China until at the earliest maybe 2009-2010 when the CMFs were first made. Someone correct me if I'm wrong here, but I don't think there's ever been a Chinese made Batman aside from the Electro-suit Batman from the Batman/DC minifig guide. Quote
Brickus Posted March 10, 2014 Posted March 10, 2014 2006 was the year LEGO stopped producing parts in Korea and started making fabrics and specialised parts in China, but no normal minifigure parts were made in China at the time. So, no the figure is not made in China, apart from the cape. Quote
jnm7880 Posted March 10, 2014 Author Posted March 10, 2014 (edited) Thank for the input guys. To summarise, can I say that minifigs made in 2006 do not have Lego imprints in their feet and that does not represent that they are Made in China? Probably they are made using older Lego moulds. Hopefully someone with the same Batman figure is able to check and verify on this. Edited March 10, 2014 by jnm7880 Quote
