beatpoet Posted March 5, 2014 Posted March 5, 2014 So, this is the first MOC that I'm posting on here. Any comments or suggestions are welcome. Just was playing around with some of the GS stuff and came up with this. Quote
dooberfloober Posted March 5, 2014 Posted March 5, 2014 I like the shape a lot. the curves, guns on the side, lower engines, and two big guns are great. My only suggestion is that you improve the look of the underside. If you can't make the bottom look smooth I recommend you try greebling so that it looks like the paneling has fallen off in some places. Quote
Laura Beinbrech Posted March 5, 2014 Posted March 5, 2014 Nice! Kinda reminds me of a Cylon Raider from Battlestar Galactica (the OLD one). Quote
beatpoet Posted March 5, 2014 Author Posted March 5, 2014 ^yeah, that is kinda where I got the inspiration for the shape(and name). dooberfloober: what is greebling? (I'm a bit of a n00b when it comes to some of the terminology I see on here) Quote
Laura Beinbrech Posted March 6, 2014 Posted March 6, 2014 Greebling is a term that originated among sci-fi movie prop makers (the ones who did the ships for Star Wars) and spread to the rest of the modeling communities (including LEGO). What it means is adding various small, detail parts that don't really serve any purpose but to add texture to a model... Mainly by looking like small tanks, electrical cables, junction boxes, grills and other such things. Quote
Artanis I Posted March 6, 2014 Posted March 6, 2014 I like the shape. I don't think I've seen that white support stand in a long time! If I could suggest something, it would be to add some more green trim. Maybe a plate or two underneath, or replace some of the white parts with green. Not too many, just a few. The front of the engines looks a little bit bare, do something cool there too. Quote
SirBlake Posted March 6, 2014 Posted March 6, 2014 This is cool! I agree that a bit more green and some greebling would add a lot to it. It looks like it'd fit right in with my racer series I've been working on... Quote
ChrisBricks Posted March 7, 2014 Posted March 7, 2014 Wow this is really cool, it would go great with the vermin vaporizer :D ! Quote
TheLazyChicken Posted March 11, 2014 Posted March 11, 2014 I like the sleek model, keep up the good work! Quote
Doc_Brown Posted March 12, 2014 Posted March 12, 2014 Great job on your first moc, looks very good. Quote
Only Sinner Posted March 17, 2014 Posted March 17, 2014 This little fighter has a great overall shape to it, I would suggest maybe doing something with the intakes and exhaust on the engines. Maybe a little color for the afterburners. Quote
beatpoet Posted March 17, 2014 Author Posted March 17, 2014 This little fighter has a great overall shape to it, I would suggest maybe doing something with the intakes and exhaust on the engines. Maybe a little color for the afterburners. Yeah, I'm trying to find the right parts for the intake on the engines to tweak that a little and I've added a bit more green as well. I'll post some updated photos once I sort out the right parts. Quote
