If anybody is interested, I made a new video of my lego city with the trains running. I think I'm finally done with the basic layout of the rail yard, tracks and stations throughout the city. I added my final station for the emerald express to have its own platform since the local red train and the horizon express share the multi-level platform near the water.

I'm starting to run out of room (again), but I do plan to expand the set by a few sq feet soon and I want to add the new white passenger train coming out this year.

Sorry the video is not the best, if anybody has any ideas to how to make a better video (or lego city), please feel free!

Here is the video

Thanks for sharing 'kc2dc', that is one big layout  .......my wife wouldn't allow me anything that big.....mine has to be layouts that can be packed away (though handy for train shows and alike).

Brick On 'kc2dc' !

Very nice kc2dc :) I embedded the clip for you. You have created a very nice city!

Thanks, I couldn't figure out how to do it.

We are lucky to have an extra bedroom that can be dedicated to something like this. I can't imagine having all that packed away, but I also don't move it (shows etc).

Wow, what do you do if you derail on the back corners? I am having an issue right now and don't have any buildings yet?

At firist I was going to push the tables against the walls, but I'm now glad I left room. There is room to access the back corners. The side where the rail yard is, you can walk back there, it's only about 16 inches, but you can do it. The other corner, the table is not that deep and wraps around the room so you can easily access that as well after you duck under the bridges to get over there.

I have had several crashes, the bigger problem is finding all the parts under the table. I had the horizon express take off on me once at full speet and flew off at a corner while the freight train just happened to also be coming around the corner in the opposite direction and both trains flew into the mini blinds. Too bad I didn't get that on video.

That is awesome.Always inspires me to get off my bum and get my city off and running. All those trains sitting in my cupboard, such a waste!

I like this a lot. I wish those bridge trusses would make a comeback and be available in more sets...

Up until now, I've been content not trying to track down a monorail system on the cheap, but when I see layouts like yours, it reminds me just how much activity and liveliness it gives to a city layout.

Yea, I spent some money on getting the monorail, but it's worth every penny. I think it's what makes the entire layout interesting and takes it to a whole different level.
