CamelBoy68 Posted April 29, 2014 Author Posted April 29, 2014 Burps and lurps are actually supposed to stack on top of each other. Any chance your gb-burps could too? I don't see why not, they are both in the same scale. Putting them together shouldn't be a problem, its the separating that may be a bit tricky.... Quote
eileenkeeney Posted May 1, 2014 Posted May 1, 2014 I was not aware people hated these parts. I love 'em. An easy way to fill space when parts are running out. I liked them many years ago when I had a shortage of pieces, and getting individual pieces was not so easy, and more expensive (no PAB bins at Lego stores, and very limited service pack selections from Lego). But now I very much dislike them. I dislike pre-molded base plates even more than I do burps. I used to like pre-molded base plates for the same reason I liked burps. I could get a look with many fewer pieces. Quote

I could get a look with many fewer pieces. Same here--when I was a kid, I was always running out of pieces, so I loved burps and castle wall pieces to make things bigger. Problem was that I didn't have many of those either! I also remember coveting my friend's molded baseplates. Once I came out of my dark ages, I immediately bought up some lots of both burps and walls on ebay and bricklink (never did pick up a molded plate), which let me make the biggest bad guy castle of my childhood dreams. But then I started participating in the online community (EB in particular) and was blown away by the quality of builds, and realized that bigger, while impressive, wasn't always better. Now, my technique has come a long way since then, but even though I don't have to rely on those bigger molds as much, however, I still like them. I think they can be really useful if integrated well, and actually just finished up a MOC where they were pretty instrumental in finishing it. So even though I don't need them like I used to, I still like to use them when I can. Quote
Transparency for Effect Posted May 31, 2014 Posted May 31, 2014 Nice builds! Can we get more images of them to build our own? :3 Quote
