PenPlays Posted February 27, 2014 Posted February 27, 2014 (edited) Although I am absolutely destroyed by the fact that multiplayer will no longer be available for both Brawl and Mario Kart Wii, I cannot believe that Nintendo Video is closing its doors as well! This is almost as heartbreaking as the end of Nintendo week on the Nintendo Channel! "Please understand..." Edited February 27, 2014 by Penkid11 Quote
Cult_Of_Skaro Posted February 27, 2014 Posted February 27, 2014 I feel like Nintendo's not allowing for nearly enough overlap... Quote
just2good Posted February 27, 2014 Posted February 27, 2014 Unfortunately, I lost most of my pre-2011 DS games in a terrible accident, but Brawl and Mario Kart Wii wifi shutting down?! What the heck! I still play Brawl online with my pals! ;-; Quote
arc Posted February 27, 2014 Posted February 27, 2014 This doesn't bother me to much, but my little brothers will be devastated. They played brawl on wii for 6 hours non-stop once... Quote
Lance Posted February 27, 2014 Posted February 27, 2014 I guess it's to convince people to buy Wii U's and 3DS's. Quote
PenPlays Posted February 27, 2014 Posted February 27, 2014 I guess it's to convince people to buy Wii U's and 3DS's. Which are both fantastic might I add. Quote
Leo604 Posted February 27, 2014 Author Posted February 27, 2014 I'm waiting for Zelda Wii U to come out before I buy one; 3DS I'm thinking about but don't really have the personal budget for one right now. Quote
TheBrickPal Posted February 27, 2014 Posted February 27, 2014 What? No more web browsing, no more online multiplayer, no more a lot of things... why are they doing this? Quote
Leo604 Posted February 28, 2014 Author Posted February 28, 2014 It's just online multiplayer they're taking down, you can still go on Wii Shop, Opera, etc. Quote
BrickG Posted February 28, 2014 Posted February 28, 2014 I don't care. You all need to buy a 3DS. It's not like you play Nintendo games for online anyways (or should anyways). Quote
Leo604 Posted February 28, 2014 Author Posted February 28, 2014 What's wrong with playing Mario Kart and SSBB online? Quote
BrickG Posted February 28, 2014 Posted February 28, 2014 It's not so much game specific as Nintendo sucks at everything online. And sometimes game specific like Smash Bros being a slowmo trash mess online. I'm a Nintendo / PC gamer. I don't play Nintendo for online since it always sucks. Friend Codes and all that crap that just makes it harder to get into it... Quote
Leo604 Posted February 28, 2014 Author Posted February 28, 2014 Yeah SSBB does have a ton of lag online, but it's still nice to be able to with people overseas or just friends. Friend Codes aren't that bad either, just make sure you enter it correctly. Quote
Lego Spy Posted March 1, 2014 Posted March 1, 2014 (edited) Unfortunately, I lost most of my pre-2011 DS games in a terrible accident, but Brawl and Mario Kart Wii wifi shutting down?! What the heck! I still play Brawl online with my pals! ;-; Ouch. As for Brawl, I think as Lance stated, they want you to buy a Wii U, and what with Super Smash Bros. 4 coming out... I guess it's to convince people to buy Wii U's and 3DS's. Which are both fantastic might I add. Agreed. It's not so much game specific as Nintendo sucks at everything online. And sometimes game specific like Smash Bros being a slowmo trash mess online. I'm a Nintendo / PC gamer. I don't play Nintendo for online since it always sucks. Friend Codes and all that crap that just makes it harder to get into it... Hmm... I know this isn't a DS/Wii game, but have you played Kid Icarus: Uprising on the 3DS? Personally, I think the online multiplayer is extremely good. There's very little (if any) lag, and I've only had a few communication errors. Edited March 1, 2014 by Lego Spy Quote

May I add that that game is one of the best games I have ever played. It has come to my attention that most videos that are showed on Nintendo video are easily available on Youtube (Bravest Warriors is just too good to miss!) Quote
Lego Spy Posted March 2, 2014 Posted March 2, 2014 (edited) May I add that that game is one of the best games I have ever played. Great story with humor + Great multiplayer + Great gameplay = Great game. And I don't really understand why Nintendo Video is being shut down? Does it run with N-WFC? Edited March 2, 2014 by Lego Spy Quote
PenPlays Posted March 2, 2014 Posted March 2, 2014 And I don't really understand, why Nintendo Video is being shut down? Does it run with N-WFC? Not quite sure, although it is very similar to the Wii's Nintendo Channel, although not chalk-full of game trailers. Neither were very popular by the sound of it. Not to mention that they just released the YouTube App, making the Nintendo Video App kinda obsolete. Quote
Lego Spy Posted March 2, 2014 Posted March 2, 2014 (edited) Not to mention that they just released the YouTube App, making the Nintendo Video App kinda obsolete. That's true, though I've had some problems with the YouTube app before. (Getting "An Error has occured." messages randomly, which closes the software automatically.)
