Hi all!

Sorry if this has been explained elsewhere, I´ve tried looking after answers a bit but gave up. So instead I´ll post my two problems here :cry_happy: !

  • First - Is there a way to find which brick is where? The reason for this strange question is that I built a rather large thing and accidently used two BRICK 1X2 WITHOUT PIN instead of BRICK 1X2 (which for now is 70 used). So I´d like to find out which two are the wrong ones to be able to change them.
  • Second - How do I connect a minifig shield to a panel like this?

Thanks!

Or you can put a BRICK 1X2 WITHOUT PIN near your model and use Part selection tool, it looks like an arrow with a brick. That would select all of these bricks which you can remove right away.

However, it will be quite difficult to see where exactly they were to replace them. They might be hidden inside a wall or something like that, and in that case you should use the Invert selection button that is right next to selection tools bar and looks like an arrow with two bricks - a grey and an azure one. It would select all the other bricks which you can then hide to see where exactly in your model those pinless bricks are

And if I read the information right, you just can´t take a design an mirror it? I´m talking about a full build, let´s say a left part of a castle wall design that should go on the right side also.

Here's a trick I used when I am trying to find a hidden wrong part. I use shape selection tool (arrow with a 2x2 brick icon) and select the part that is not wrong (ie a 1x4 brick, or 1x2 with pin), then hide those. Repeat until the offending part is visible.

I wish there was an option to invert selection like in some paint program. Select the 1x2 brick without pin using shape selection tool, invert it to select everything except for the 1x2 without pin, then click hide.

There is. It's the large, right-most button on the selection tool's toolbar.

I'd like to add my method for finding a certain part, although it has already been solved. Like everyone here, I add one of the bricks I have to find, and use that specific part selection tool, then I either move them to find them, of I give them all some kind of fancy color.

As fir the mirror issue. I encounter that a lot as well. I split the part I have to mirror up in two parts. One part contains the elements that don't have to be mirrored, since they appear as equal from both sides. I go ahead and jus comy those. The other part is more difficult. Sometimes I just mirror it part by part, or sometimes you can rotte it for 180 degrees and replace a few parts.

I'm just wondering if it is possible to export your model to a program that does support a mirror function (like SR3D builder), and import that mirrored part back in. Has somebody got any ideas on that?

Another way is to select all bricks, and make them transparent. Then select the brick you want to find and put it onto the scene floor. Chose "Shape Selection Tool" and then color the parts in red or somthing (or hide them). This is off course only to identify where the problematic bricks are.

Also, if it's only about replacing 1x4 or 1x2 bricks without pin to those with pin, then you can use LDD Managers Search&Replace feature (or simply edit the LXFML file for those who feel comfortable with that method). Note however that this "Search & replace" only works with bricks that have the same geometry (shape) and brick origin (like 1x4 w/o pin > 1x4 w pin).
