cyber_human Posted February 25, 2014 Posted February 25, 2014 Hi! I'm educator teaching kids robotics. Few hours ago I found this Lego Digital Designer. I was in a need to create manual for tomorrow classes, pictures taken by camera are awful. This is super software. However I miss some parts from WeDo sets known as power functions elements: 1. tilt sensor - 9584 2. motion sensor - 9583 3. USB hub - 9581 Is there any way to add them into LDD? I found them inside MLCad, but that software doesn not create so fast nice manuals... Any help is appreciated. Regards, Quote
Classicsmiley Posted February 26, 2014 Posted February 26, 2014 How complex are your models? You can create some pretty decent instructions with MLcad and LPub, once you get over the learning curve. Quote
Alasdair Ryan Posted February 26, 2014 Posted February 26, 2014 I would also recommend that you try Lpub and MLcad, here is a tutorial on Lpub which you may find of some help to you. Quote
AndyC Posted February 26, 2014 Posted February 26, 2014 To answer your original question, no there is no way to add parts to LDD if they aren't included. There is a request thread, which is occasionally passed on to the developers but no guarantees that any given part will get included. Quote
cyber_human Posted February 26, 2014 Author Posted February 26, 2014 Thx people. I'm affraid power functions may not be included as they are not on official retail market, only for educators ;( Then I will have to find time (that is most tricky part) to learn creating instructions in Lpub and MLcad and all that. I already imported my model into MLcad and install my sensor, that was easy. Now I have to make manual... My models are not so complex - they are for 6-8 yrs old kids using 157 pcs from WeDo. This particular one is 69 pcs. They have to build it and program it and play with it within 60 minutes, so it can't be too complex. Quote
legolijntje Posted February 26, 2014 Posted February 26, 2014 If it are only 69 pieces, it doesn't take that long (for people who already know how to do it of course). You can send the file to me, I can create something Although I would recommend to try it yourself too, so you can do it too (which gives an amazing satisfying feeling ) , but I don't know if you're in a hurry....
