My two least favorite sets (one DC, one Marvel) in no particular order:

Iron Man vs Golf buggy flamethrower machine: It's completely inaccurate to the movie and the Mandarin minifigure looks awful. The only redeeming feature of the set is the brilliant Iron Man Heartbreaker mini figure.

Man of Steel: Black Zero Escape: An over sized escape pod with a werid door/ladder thing? No thanks. Also, the Lois Lane minifigure suffers from the 'massive cheek bones' problem.

I really love the Metropolis Showdown set- nice scenery piece, vehicle (ok, I wish sets had less vehicles but that's across the theme) and two main characters.

Compared to, say, the Spider Trike or the golf cart of doom its a really nice set

For me it has to be the Spider-Copter. I hate the big-fig Green Goblin, and the actual Spider-Copter looks like a child has made it.

I agree 100%. The worst part of the big GG is that he looks like he is wearing a gym outfit!

And the Spider-copter... There isn't even a tailfin on the back!

Least favorite DC set: Joker's Steamroller. The steamroller itself is fine, and the minifigs are great (Especially Batgirl and Nicholson Joker), but the Batwing in that set is atrocious.

Least favorite Marvel set: Iron Man vs. Mandarin's Mario Kart. I'd say the Spidercopter or any "Spidey has a vehicle" sets, but their designs aren't that bad and can probably be rebuilt in another color. The only plus Mandarin's Mario Kart gets is the Heartbreaker Iron Man suit, and maybe the pieces, but otherwise it's junk.

For Marvel, the definite worst is the Spider Trike vs. Electro. The trike is abysmal (both in concept and in design) and it only includes one new figure, Electro. The worst set for DC would have to be Black Zero Escape. Again, only one new figure, and a unsatisfying build.

I actually like the pod from BZE. And it was my first Zod, so I liked it.

I think I'll agree-I wish the Spider-Trike at LEAST came with a new Spider-Man! Perhaps TLG could make a few variants with gear and stuff-kind of like how a lot of the ASM action figures were made?

But I'll probably get the Spider-Trike anyway for Electro and, despite what I just said, I don't own the newer Spider-Man fig yet (both of my USM sets don't include figs, since I only cared about the models in the January 2013 wave).

Although I agree that the GG kind of sucks, as a Marvel minifig completest, I will likely get this set for Power Man and MJ (if it only came with MJ though, perhaps I would have thought twice). I definitely wish they came out with a new Spidey variant though.

I will likely not get the Spider-Trike set, and look to get Elektro separately.

Captain America's Avenging Cycle by far. The aliens are ugly, and Captain America's bike is rather small. Plus, now you can get Captain America in other sets (Captain America vs. Hydra).

I was originally going to get Electro separately, however he should run you about £10 on his own! If I see the set with a discount, I'll get it.

I like the set, but the new motorcycle is better. And I think the new Cap is better as well!

This is a good point. Perhaps in the end I will be getting this set as well. I'm definitely going to be getting Hulk Lab (the new Thor and new Hulk, Falcon alone make it worth it), Captain America and Red Skull, and the GG set. I'm on the fence about Electro and Doc Ock.

They keep making Spider-Man vehicles, but they don't give us the one vehicle Spider-Man actually did have for a time, the Spider-Mobile! Make me a set of that, TLG, and we'll talk.

Though admittedly I may cave on the Spider-Trike set if I can get it on sale because like someone else said earlier, Electro is easily repurposed as Iceman and there's a sad lack of X-Men minifigs at the moment.

For Marvel, it has to be Iron Man vs Hobo in fire-breathing shopping trolley, which is more or less the only way this set can be described. The only intended draw of this set is the Heartbreaker Iron Man, and even that is disappointingly inaccurate to the film. I honestly cannot begin to fathom what TLG were thinking when they decided to put this set on shelves.

For DC, it has to be the Black Zero Escape. Lois Lane just looks like a civilian Black Widow, and the set itself is pathetic. A little platform and a poorly-designed escape pod? Come on TLG, you can do way, way better than that. You know, if you had actually TRIED to do any better.

I believe it was a deliberate ruse on Marvel's part, in order to obfuscate the true villain/end of the film, and that TLG had very little say in the matter.

That's the best explanation I've heard for it. On the other hand, perhaps Marvel had initially intended the Mandarin to be the villain and gave TLG some ideas from the early stages of production and let them work from that and then not inform them of any plot updates. That seems to end up being the case for a lot of TLG's licensed themes, especially the one-offs like The Lone Ranger (e.g. the Stagecoach never got any action in the film but was made into a set which suggested that it did).

Yes, that is possible.

The reasons for the Stagecoach Escape are made clear in the Brick Show's review.

You know I like all the sets, but that Iron Man 3 with that pimped up golf cart is just bad designing and a bit silly looking (note - I haven't brought the Spiderman trike yet ! - that's next month)

Perhaps it's going to be one bad set design per year eh ?

Iron-man vs. Mandiarin ultimate lawnmower / golf cart thing. One of the most pathetic sets ive Seen. I also don't like the abundance of spider-vehicles. Why does spider man need a ghetto trike thing when he can swing from buildings?

Spider-Trike vs Electro for sure is my least favorite.

The Iron Man vs The Mandarin Ultimate Showdown comes in a close second worst because the only good part about it was the Heartbreaker. The Mandarin looked ridiculous, The vehicle was outrageous and the scene never even happened in the movie!

Captain America's Avenging Cycle by far. The aliens are ugly, and Captain America's bike is rather small. Plus, now you can get Captain America in other sets (Captain America vs. Hydra).

What!?!? The aliens in the Movie are ugly! I have to agree with you about the bike, I didn't really like it. But I did like the other set elements.

I still find it hilarious that Spider-Man's gut reaction to the idea of having a vehicle is quite similar to ours. Though I have found the builds of the Spider vehicles to be pretty nice! I think people would have less animosity towards them with a simple color swap to dark blue.

The Mandarin looked ridiculous,

Actually, The Mandarin in this set was based off of concept art for Iron Man 3. I think LEGO wasn't given much information about the film to be honest, and that's why the sets suffered in terms of accuracy. Hopefully they've learned their lesson for GOTG...
