Hi guys,

I'm looking for some help/direction.

I'm trying to find a solution to store/display my Small-ish but ever growing Lego Collection.

I've around 60 mini figures, plus buildings, vehicles etc for the sets.

I've considered http://www.brickdisplaycase.com but seem to get the idea it will be expensive, with only being able to fit 8 in one unit.

I've also looked at firestartoys.com but again, it will become expensive and look like a cluttered mess.

I've bought a x-large baseplate with a view of building some-kind of stepped/staggered stand for the mini figures, but having trouble finding bricks alone.

Any help guys would be much appreciated.

I bought one of these display shelves from Ikea. They are kind of expensive but it has 6 shelves and was holding three full LotR/Hobbit waves comfortably which was about 15-20 sets. The second Hobbit wave (forth total for the Middle-Earth theme) did me in. I need to get another because as is it's getting pretty cluttered.

My suggestion exactly, go browse Ikea, they have a wide range of display options, and will be the least expensive option, if you don't mind some assembling from parts (its a little like life-size LEGO building  ).

I think shelves are the best bet. Wall shelves take up the least space, but if you aren't allowed to attach anything to your walls, the Billy bookcases from IKEA have worked well for me in the past. The nice thing about the Billy bookcases is that the shelves are adjustable and you can buy extra shelves to maximize the space that you have.

As far as minifig display goes: I haven't done it yet, but as part of our Lego room project (which will involve putting in new drywall), we have plans to put shallow shelves in between the studs.

Ive looked at Shelves but our landlord won't allow us to pit shelves up so. Im torn between the glass units or a full book case. I like the glass idea as they are outta the way of my small kids and the dust too

My main display area is the top of a cabinet. The houses will be replaced with modular buildings still to be bought (and then I need to find a place for the houses).

Those minifig display cases are awesome. You can hold more than 8 with a little expansion. The case is 41 long 6 wide and I think 9 high. Add your owns bricks to create steps. If you add 3 steps you can hold 10 per level

I've bought some draught excluders that go onto old fashioned wooden frame windows. It's very much a work in progress and I'm happy. It's just a case of having the money to finish it off. My missus doesn't understand my addiction ha and just see it as a waste of money but I've had 5 new sets this week alone. Oopsie, they always just fall into my hands ha
