jamesed_1971 Posted February 17, 2014 Posted February 17, 2014 Hi, I am planning to make my own custom Lego Train Track by using 2x8 Plates for the sleepers / ties and Peco Gauge 1 Rail & Rail Joiners or Peco Gauge G45 Rail & Rail Joiners, I was wondering which rail is the same height as Lego train rails, Peco Gauge 1 Rail is Code 200 and Peco Gauge G45 Rail is Code 250. locoworks Posted February 17, 2014 Posted February 17, 2014 250 and 200 refer to the height of the rails in 1000's of an inch. 250 is 1/4 inch tall and 200 is 1/5 inch tall. use an online converter for heights mm. I'd suggest 250 is more likely due to the flange depth on lego wheels., if it is even deep enough?? Quote
garethjellis Posted February 17, 2014 Posted February 17, 2014 I have heard of people using the Atlas O gauge flex track, not sure if its available in the UK though Quote
jamesed_1971 Posted February 18, 2014 Author Posted February 18, 2014 There is a article in Railbricks 3 called Keeping 9 Volt Alive (page 20), where the author uses Peco Guage one rails and rail joiners to make custom track Quote
Jeroen vW Posted February 18, 2014 Posted February 18, 2014 Code 250 is the right height if you put it directly on a lego plate/sleeper. http://www.bricklink.com/catalogItemPic.asp?P=4166 You have to remove the cable grooves. You can do that with a standard 2x8 plate too. When you put the track in place of the removed cable grooves or dots you get the right height exactly. I tried to make some myself but had some trouble connecting the rails to the lego. I tried with superglue, but that wasn't strong enough. Now I'm thinking of fixing the rails in between with some plastic strips. Quote
garethjellis Posted February 18, 2014 Posted February 18, 2014 Thats a great article ! I like the idea of removing the studs and feeding the adjusted fish plate through the holes! I may even use that for my power functions! Quote
