UniqueBuilder Posted April 30, 2007 Posted April 30, 2007 A woman employee died after being hit by a rollercoaster in Legoland, Denmark. She jumped over a security fence to pick up a customers wallet when the incident happened. :'-( Link Sad stuff.. :-( Quote
DoubleT Posted April 30, 2007 Posted April 30, 2007 All the sympati from the staff of EuroBricks goes to the family, of the poor girl of the accident.. Quote
Wout Posted May 1, 2007 Posted May 1, 2007 Very sad, I asked myself why she didn't wait till the ride was over. Quote
Brainbox Posted May 1, 2007 Posted May 1, 2007 Yeah, I offer my condolences. But it's this that bothered me: Of course, 21-year-olds are known for their immortality, real or imagined, as well as for their impatience. Says who? Quote
Starwars4J Posted May 1, 2007 Posted May 1, 2007 Yeah, I offer my condolences. But it's this that bothered me: Says who? This 21-year-old agrees :-P People my age, and younger often believe themselves invincible, and thus do some really stupid things. but that's all over the news, I don't really need to get into this. As for this woman, it's a horrible tragedy :-/ I guess she figured she'd be there for just a second...a really sad mistake :-( My condolences go to her family, and my prayers as well Quote

Starwars4J Posted May 1, 2007 Posted May 1, 2007 Am I the exception? Well, I mean you're 17, but I guess that's close enough :-P And I said "often", not all of us are that way, but I don't know you well enough to make a call either way :-D But let's try to keep this on topic... Quote
snefroe Posted May 1, 2007 Posted May 1, 2007 well people of all ages make stupid mistakes, i guess she didn't not evaluate the situation all too well, probably underestimated the machine's speed or distance. still, a strange and sad story... Quote
Kahgarak Posted May 2, 2007 Posted May 2, 2007 Oh my god,i was there that day! X-O Rest in peace,employee... Quote
rexcal Posted May 2, 2007 Posted May 2, 2007 I doubt that this sad tragedy really has anything to do with the Legoland-parks being owned now by another company. This was a hint given in the linked article. I'm sure the employee knew that usually she would have to wait - she probably just wanted to help getting back the wallet as fast as possible and underestimated the speed, as one of you has already mentioned. Sad story. Quote
trooperdavinfelth Posted May 9, 2007 Posted May 9, 2007 My condolences. One question, though. Was the wallet on the track, or near it? If so, maybe if the coasters weren't so wide this kind of accident could be prevented. :-/ Quote
