lightningtiger Posted February 9, 2014 Posted February 9, 2014 Excellent looking creation 'pjchilds', I really like the Karate studio the most.......Brick On 'pjchilds' ! Quote
tomdobs55 Posted February 9, 2014 Posted February 9, 2014 That karate studio has such clean lines and is open, I love it! Juice bar looks like fun too. Quote
LEGO Train 12 Volts Posted February 9, 2014 Posted February 9, 2014 Very nice Modular Building and awesome first floor! Quote
finnbricker Posted February 9, 2014 Posted February 9, 2014 I like your idea a lot! The ground floor is superb! The Karate studio would, in my opinion, benefit from some more details on the facade. I'm currently working on a MOD with two 32 x 32 baseplates, with two juice bars on the ground floor and a medium blue second and probably third floor, as well. Probably a discotheque on the second floor. Quote
LukeWarmTea Posted February 9, 2014 Posted February 9, 2014 I dig this. Building with/for kids is the best. Did you use two Juice bars or just one? It's impressive! Quote
pjchilds Posted February 9, 2014 Author Posted February 9, 2014 I dig this. Building with/for kids is the best. Did you use two Juice bars or just one? It's impressive! Kids did some amazing bits. Mr 5 did the apple/carrot/banana/pineapple tree and housing and guard station. Ms 11 did the carrot plot and other plants. Ms 2 year old pulled all the rest of the friends to pieces ;) Used three Juice Bars from a Target sale, and two Emma's Karate Class. And then raided the parts boxes and Mr 5 yr olds collection :) Quote
Only Sinner Posted February 10, 2014 Posted February 10, 2014 Good on ya putting those kids to work! All that construction is going to pay off, because this looks great. Even that shady character on the roof looks about to spend some money here. Quote
Sarah Posted February 10, 2014 Posted February 10, 2014 I love the open window front rooms. Very nice. Quote
elleana Posted February 11, 2014 Posted February 11, 2014 I love the open window front rooms. Very nice. Me too! What parts did you use for the trans-clear windows on the karate floor? Quote
pjchilds Posted February 11, 2014 Author Posted February 11, 2014 Me too! What parts did you use for the trans-clear windows on the karate floor? Next to the door - Trans-Clear http://www.bricklink.com/catalogItemPic.asp?P=46212 -- there is 1 in each Juice Bar set The large panes - Trans-Clear http://www.bricklink.com/catalogItemPic.asp?P=59349 -- there are 2 in each Juice Bar set Quote
Doom2099 Posted February 11, 2014 Posted February 11, 2014 Fantastic work! I really like the top floor, and the amount of clear windows you used all around. Well done to the whole family. Quote
Kristel Posted February 12, 2014 Posted February 12, 2014 This is great! I love the extensive use of the trans-clear panels, it really opens up the rooms for playing. I particularly like the middle floor. Quote
Legogal Posted February 12, 2014 Posted February 12, 2014 Whoa! Each floor has its own character, and the clear pieces really open up the entire build. Great that your kids helped out! What a fun build and thanks to Target with its sale. It is amazing how much a twenty to thirty per cent discount can increase the size of a small set building! Quote
pjchilds Posted March 1, 2014 Author Posted March 1, 2014 Got some time and tiles so finished the tiling (well 2 1x2 Dark Pink to go... but hard to source). Added some custom stickers to the Dojo and took some photos.... Quote
greg3 Posted March 2, 2014 Posted March 2, 2014 That looks really nice and a great use of the friends sets!! I especially like the dojo!! Excellent work! Quote
