neonic Posted February 5, 2014 Posted February 5, 2014 that's realy funny I think you really gonna look amazed when the seller goes count those bricks and .... we're out of plastic bags Quote
splatman Posted February 5, 2014 Posted February 5, 2014 The build·a·bag part was my fave . Could not handle the counting-the-pieces part. Had to skip that. Wish I could do Pick-A-Brick that way: Build a box on a 32x32 baseplate, and fill it up with bricks. Then cap it with 2 layers of plates, to make a 10" cube that has about the same volume as 15 large PaB cups. And would be rung up as 15 large PaB refills. Quote
Deathleech Posted February 6, 2014 Posted February 6, 2014 I wish the Lego Store let me build my own bags out of bricks! But breaking those Lego was just.. sad Quote
TheLegoDr Posted February 6, 2014 Posted February 6, 2014 It was funny, yet if I was there I'd be so annoyed. Normally I try to chat it up with the employees/other adult fans, but normally I'm on a time crunch, so counting each individual piece wouldn't be worthwhile. And the fact he opened the box. Some people buy sets to remain closed! I realize, they were told they were on a tv show afterwards, but still it would have been frustrating at the time. This coming from a stick in the mud Quote
AFOLguy1970 Posted February 6, 2014 Posted February 6, 2014 If he tried to build me a bag out of bricks, that would have been great. A free baseplate and all those wall pieces would have been fantastic. If he had tried to open my box and count bricks, I would be getting another box off the shelf. Otherwise, you would have a bag full of loose bricks, some of which could easily go missing. There was probably a Lego employee not visible in the video who was there to make sure that quality was not compromised and that everyone involved knew it was a gag before they left the store, ie. the lady whose set was unboxed probably got another one after the big reveal. Sarah Posted February 6, 2014 Posted February 6, 2014 Count me in the stick in the mud department. I would NOT have been as patient as that mom when the cashier started to count out pieces of Lego. Quote

Knowing the Ellen show she probably got more than what they bought :) Quote
XeniK Posted February 6, 2014 Posted February 6, 2014 Lego should be giving a bag build out of bricks to every customer Quote
KringlesBricks Posted February 6, 2014 Author Posted February 6, 2014 Yea...I thought the building the bag out of bricks was the funniest part!! ha-ha! Just imagine if Adam started to count out a set like Tower Bridge! Quote
Deathleech Posted February 6, 2014 Posted February 6, 2014 Just imagine if Adam started to count out a set like Tower Bridge! Ya, or even a bigger $100+ set. The Minecraft one isn't huge, but imagine sitting there and counting out almost 2000 pieces for something like the Ewok Village! Quote
LEGO Historian Posted February 7, 2014 Posted February 7, 2014 (edited) When it comes to me... I turn into one of the Marx brothers with LEGO... so having someone doing something very eccentric... for me is a nice diversion from our normal routine existence... and when it comes to LEGO.... I thrive on Mayhem... I would have suggested to the fellow that we count the studs and divide by 4 or something equally absurd! Edited February 7, 2014 by LEGO Historian Quote

Sure. At the end of the video you see the people making hello to the camera when it is revealed. Quote
Legogal Posted February 7, 2014 Posted February 7, 2014 Hilarious and very entertaining! Sign me up for a LEGO bag please....smashing the magnet was also very cool. Don't we all want to pull those buggers apart? Quote
TheLazyChicken Posted February 8, 2014 Posted February 8, 2014 I want a lego bag! I have to say that video was really funny! I think I might have to watch the Ellen show for more episodes. Quote
