K-Nut Posted March 22, 2014 Posted March 22, 2014 I moved them. Am I still able to move the others? They look locked into place. Quote
Kintobor Posted March 22, 2014 Author Posted March 22, 2014 OOC: Yup. The only ones you can't move are the 1 and the 2. Sorry, perhaps I should have been more clear. Quote

Wandering about, he manages to find two gold coins laying on the floor. Duvors Posted March 23, 2014 Posted March 23, 2014 (edited) Tons of ways. You could take a shot at the puzzle, use one of your hint coins, prepare for what's beyond the door, lots of stuff! (OCC:For the record, grey is in-character thought, OCC comments are in parenthesis containing an 'OCC' acronym, on the rest of what you said, I'm terrible at figuring out mathematical problems of this sort, I'm trying to save those for another quest, and I think I can do that once we know what's on the other side, I'd be able to prepare better.Wait, I have two hint coins? EDIT; No, I don't.) Edited March 23, 2014 by Lord Duvors Quote
Dragonfire Posted March 23, 2014 Posted March 23, 2014 Avalanche, having been stopped from using his Hint Coin before, does not hesitate to use it now. Quote
Kintobor Posted March 23, 2014 Author Posted March 23, 2014 (edited) Avalanche raises the hint coin into the air. Just as he does it falls out of his grip and lands to the floor, rolling away. The yeti seems a bit disheartened, but shortly thereafter he and the rest of the party hear a voice in their heads, for each member the voice was different, but familiar. For some it was those of past mentors, for others it was of individuals they respected greatly, each saying the same thing. "What lies before you is a Magic Square, a math puzzle where each vertical, diagonal, and horizontal line must equal the same answer. I'll start you off with a helpful hint: the number that goes in the central slot is five. Good luck." The voice disappears from their heads, but the party is one step closer to solving the puzzle. Khorne Posted March 23, 2014 Posted March 23, 2014 Eric looked at the actions of the party from a short distance. He slightly nodded as the necromancer put the tokens in their place again. It seemed he had found the right solution. In preparation of what was to come, the Norse Raider uncorked one of his Meads and took some Smelling Salts. Quote
Duvors Posted March 23, 2014 Posted March 23, 2014 You? What, how? Throlar looked stunned, and rather confused for a second, before he realized that the voice had been that of the hint coin. "Gah! How, must have tapped into the mind, searching for a voice that I would trust, voice must be different for each person, yes, yes..." Throlar began muttering to himself. Quote
Kintobor Posted March 24, 2014 Author Posted March 24, 2014 Althior rearranges the numbered tokens, remembering to put the five in the middle. The board doesn't light up, but the sound of a latch being undone echo's throughout the room, and metal plate falls of the doors. Both creak open, now ajar. Another set of stairs descend into the tomb, low chanting emits from wherever the stairs lead. Violet moves back over to the party. "I'm ready for this guys. Whatever's down there's going to meet the backside of my shovel for stealing my heart. I'm following you, so whenever you're ready, lets see who's behind all this..." Quote
Duvors Posted March 24, 2014 Posted March 24, 2014 "Yes, let us see, now." Throlar equips his Crow Hemet. Quote

Kintobor Posted March 25, 2014 Author Posted March 25, 2014 OOC: I doubt they'll be an update since I've got a lot of assignments due, but this will be a reminder that I'd appreciate it if you guys to post at least once a day so we can keep a consistent pace. We're almost done, so expect a big reveal tomorrow. Quote

Khorne Posted March 26, 2014 Posted March 26, 2014 Eric cracked his knuckles. He felt the Mead coursing through his veins, giving him strength. He was curious to find out what was behind the door. He was eager for a battle, but he did not know what to expect or if he would be able to give his fullest for the party and the quest. Quote
Kintobor Posted March 26, 2014 Author Posted March 26, 2014 The party treks down into the unknown, the chanting growing louder, filling the descent with a thick aura of dread. Each stone step seemed like one step closer to the unspeakable. As the party made it to the bottom, they were crammed into a claustrophobic room. A trio of individuals hover near the back, facing towards what looks like a pit. The one in the middle straightens up, their ponytail bobbing. They speak in a young voice. "Guests, you two. We can't leave them in the dark." The figure in the ratty crimson cloak turns to the heroes and their undead companion, carrying a menacing scythe made out of polished silver. She steps out of the way of a table topped with various bottles, books, parchments, and a muscly red organ. Her two cloaked companions follow her, drawing knifes from their robes. Stepping closer to the party, they can make out more details about her. Unlike the other two who follow her, who are wrapped in bandages and clearly decaying, the woman's features look very alive, if incredibly pale. The only thing off about her is her eyes, as there is no twinkle in her emerald irises. Her outfit has buckles and belts all over it, fitting her like a glove. The cape on her back is tattered and worn, with holes and loose seams adorning it. She speaks to the party with a youthful, yet detached and withdrawn voice. "Ah, gentlemen and lady, what a surprise. You being here means that von Zarovitch has been taken out of the equation? He knew what he was getting into." "Mistress, do you think it wise for us to be mingling with these living fools? We're so close to finishing the incantations!" "Yes, mistress! Please, we must finish the spell!" She whips around to face the two, her heels smacking the floor with a "clack!" She responds harshly. "Why don't you two finish the incantation, Kydell? Orioll? I'm certain the heroes of Heroica have many questions they wish to ask!" The two scamper off back to the pit. Violet leans into the party, looking urgent while she whispers. "Those two guys! They're the ones that carved my heart out!" The zombie lurches back as she notices the red cloaked woman return her attention to the party. "Sorry you had to see me like that. I have a bit of a temper." She smiles as she looks at the party, resting her scythe in her arms as she rubbed her gloved hands together, looking genuinely impressed. "Look what we have here. A yeti, come down from his mountain, a dwarf, who questions his own ability, a nord, so mighty and full of himself, and an undead necromancer. Surely a misfitted lot, rounded out by a naive zombie lover. Takes me back it does. I hate to say it, but your making me nostalgic. However, I can't dwell on the past. It's not who I am now." She pauses for a moment before continuing. "You have little idea on what's going on here, don't you? Shall I fill you in?" Quote
Dragonfire Posted March 27, 2014 Posted March 27, 2014 "Why yes, I have come down from the mountain. Good observation," says Avalanche sarcastically. He tightens his grip on Trollsbane. Quote
Kintobor Posted March 27, 2014 Author Posted March 27, 2014 "Why yes, I have come down from the mountain. Good observation," says Avalanche sarcastically. He tightens his grip on Trollsbane. "I'm just saying I haven't seen a yeti in years, and I'm certain someone's held animosity seeing a yeti like yourself. Someone who treated you for being different? It's what my fellow undead feel almost every day. Chastised, berated, publicly humiliated. I intend to change that." She didn't seem to notice Avalanche's increasing aggression. Quote
Khorne Posted March 28, 2014 Posted March 28, 2014 Eric threw a glare in Throlar's direction. "She doesn't look like a wraith to me, dwarf." The Nord then redirected his attention to the woman. He chuckled softly and grinned. "We take you back, do we? Glad to be of service". He continued in an ever increasingly mocking and sarcastic tone, "Please do fill us in. Some of us are just dying to know what is going on." His eyes flickered with mischievous joy. The Raider's demeanour didn't show it, but he certainly was interested to hear what the womand had to say. Quote
