matt_in_ottawa Posted February 2, 2014 Posted February 2, 2014 The set itself is great, but I thought it needed a little extra, so I modified it a little and added a trailer. I also replaced the mudguards and used bulky tires (http://www.bricklink.com/catalogItem.asp?P=56890) to give it a more off-road feel. Matt Quote
Godtshep Posted February 2, 2014 Posted February 2, 2014 Nice Mod! If you like modding sets, the Minecraft and BTTF sets may be for you Quote
Wodanis Posted February 2, 2014 Posted February 2, 2014 Cool, nice modification there. I like your train carriages too. Ugh I am going to have to buy more logs aren't I? Quote
lightningtiger Posted February 2, 2014 Posted February 2, 2014 Nice modifications 'matt_in_ottawa', it's a pity Lego didn't include a towing hitch and trailer in that set......but I guess it would have bumped up the price point. Brick O Truck On 'matt_in_ottawa' ! Quote
LEGO Train 12 Volts Posted February 2, 2014 Posted February 2, 2014 Amazing MOD! The trailer looks fine! Quote
scottwb2010 Posted February 3, 2014 Posted February 3, 2014 Like how you've added a drag trailer to your logging Truck. I think many would have liked to have seen this model come with such a trailer or have been an articulated trailer truck in the first place. Guess price ruled this out. Good job though. Plus I like your train wagon's. With a few logging themed city product on the go just now, its a pity the new Cargo Train doesn't come with a logging wagon/carriage. Quote
matt_in_ottawa Posted February 4, 2014 Author Posted February 4, 2014 Thanks for the positive feedback. Quote
Sir Brickalot Posted February 4, 2014 Posted February 4, 2014 Very nice! The tires are much better now. Quote
Alasdair Ryan Posted February 5, 2014 Posted February 5, 2014 Nice modifications,I plan on buying the set myself later this month. Quote
technic70s Posted April 25, 2014 Posted April 25, 2014 (edited) Here is my version of the logging truck, I did mine before seeing yours matt_in_ottawa. I too used the bigger wheels and the mud guards to suit. I used three sets and some extra bits from my stock. I also added a ladder to the picker and a bull bar on the front. I like the idea of the train carriages, will add that to my list of projects. More images at Flickr https://www.flickr.c...tos/technic70s/ Edited April 28, 2014 by technic70s Quote
