Sebeus I Posted February 2, 2014 Posted February 2, 2014 (edited) Update 28/06/2014: third submarine coming up (surfacing ). Two exploration submarines, The yellow one is named Leviathan and the blue one goes by the name Mantis. The Swordfish, a reconnaissance submarine: I created the underwater effect by placing a transparent blue panel in front of the lens . The top of the submarine is detachable to reveal the interior, not that there is much interior, just enough room to fit a minifigure. I hope to inspire atleast someone to join me in my quest to get the Aquazone back up and running . We need more submarines and underwater bases. More pictures can be found at my brickshelf Gallery: Leviathan Mantis Swordfish Edited June 28, 2014 by Sebeus I Quote
DraikNova Posted February 2, 2014 Posted February 2, 2014 Such a classic design, similar-looking yet unique. I like the details on the blue one especially . Quote
TheLazyChicken Posted February 2, 2014 Posted February 2, 2014 Brilliant work! I like all the detail you have incorporated, keep up the good work! Quote
Godtshep Posted February 2, 2014 Posted February 2, 2014 Nice models! I see your stickers from the Cement Mixer set are starting to peel too Perhaps next you could make the Shark Submarine from TinTin? Quote
WaysofSorting Posted February 2, 2014 Posted February 2, 2014 Snappy and clean. Elegant and classic design with lots of well-thought features and details. The interior on the blue one is especially nice. Is that a custom decal, or some 1x4 printed brick I have not seen? I really like the toothed axel cap on the clear 1x1 stud piece for the scope, and I always enjoy a turntable without the turning piece. Whatever that technique is called. Quote
Dayton Posted February 2, 2014 Posted February 2, 2014 I like how you used the blue concrete mixers. There are very few people who have used them in a good way. Quote

I see your stickers from the Cement Mixer set are starting to peel too Perhaps next you could make the Shark Submarine from TinTin? Thanks, it is on my mind but for the moment I find it extremely difficult to make a minifigure scale version. I did make a shark submarine based on that one though. But as you can see it lacks a canopy (it does have room for a minifigure). Quote
Ridge Montante Posted February 3, 2014 Posted February 3, 2014 Very nice subs. I always love the Aquazone. I would love a return of it. Quote
mrcp6d Posted February 3, 2014 Posted February 3, 2014 Both of these subs are great! They look like they could be scouring Earth's oceans right now. Quote

Csacsa234 Posted February 5, 2014 Posted February 5, 2014 Great submarines, It's good to see someone is still making MOC's for a classic theme. Quote
Orange Leader Posted February 15, 2014 Posted February 15, 2014 I really like how you did the arms for the Leviathan and using the Divers theme windows. Quote
Bricktimus Posted February 20, 2014 Posted February 20, 2014 These are both fantastic! Love them! Quote
Sebeus I Posted February 26, 2014 Author Posted February 26, 2014 Thank you, I'm working on a third one in a red color scheme. Quote
Legoman123 Posted March 3, 2014 Posted March 3, 2014 (edited) I do love these submarines. I feel this is something that Lego does not make enough of. Edited March 3, 2014 by Legoman123 Quote
Laura Beinbrech Posted March 3, 2014 Posted March 3, 2014 I really like the blue one! I've been thinking lately about how to make some midget subs for patrol/coastal defense in my setting (as well as some pirate mini-subs), and that one has got me thinking again.... Quote
Doc_Brown Posted March 6, 2014 Posted March 6, 2014 I'm a big fan of submarines! These are awesome, so cute and detailed, with great functions. Quote
ChrisBricks Posted March 8, 2014 Posted March 8, 2014 Very nice design for them both :) I like them! Quote
Godtshep Posted March 9, 2014 Posted March 9, 2014 Thanks, it is on my mind but for the moment I find it extremely difficult to make a minifigure scale version. I did make a shark submarine based on that one though. But as you can see it lacks a canopy (it does have room for a minifigure). Cool submarine! I love how it looks small at first, but can still fit a minifig. If you need more ideas, perhaps you could do a MOD on the Penguin's sub from the Batman line? I mean the 08 version, not the other one. Quote
Gunman Posted March 11, 2014 Posted March 11, 2014 Nice submarines there and nice photography too! Quote
Boettner Builds Posted March 13, 2014 Posted March 13, 2014 They remind me of the subs in "The Abyss" movie. Quote

LegoMathijs Posted March 23, 2014 Posted March 23, 2014 Cool submarines! :) Like the different kind of parts you've used. Quote
