The Architect Posted February 2, 2014 Posted February 2, 2014 (edited) Hey I dont see the point in having a fifth guild, (no offense to MikeyB or anyone else) but what is the point in having a fifth guild if its not going to be treated as a guild. My point is that I've lately been browsing around GoH a fair bit and can see that there are quite a few people who'd like Varlyrio to become another actual guild where you can sign up. Yet it isn't and if I was MikeyB I'd like to have my guild treated like the other guilds, because seriously, why cant Varlyrio be able to have guild members and at the same time be the bad guys in GoH. What I'd like happen is for ZCerebus or Ecclesiastes to give permission for a poll to be made (or they themselves could make the poll) where people are given a week to vote on whether or not they wish for Varlyrio to begin taken members. Again, as stated above sorry if I've offended anyone. The Architect. Lord Vladivus Posted February 2, 2014 Posted February 2, 2014 I'd be inclined to say don't open it, because it's something the staff use as a story point. It wouldn't work too well as another guild at the moment. Plus, you can always have Varylioan secondary characters, and there's nothing stopping you building there- there's plenty of MOCs built there. And lastly, there's a lot of other guilds (from the 5th guild challenge) that many view as canon within GoH.
SkaForHire Posted February 2, 2014 Posted February 2, 2014 As LV has said, Varylrio is mostly an NPC (nonplayer character) guild used for plot purposes. Perhaps the hardest thing would be finding a guild leader to run the guild. Also, I don't know if we really have the builder population to have another full guild. A lot of us had petitioned to open Varlyrio during the first book, but I think it was decided that in the end, there was not enough interest or enough leadership to do so. Varylrio is not off the table, I just don't see it becoming "joinable" during this phase of GoH.
Ecclesiastes Posted February 2, 2014 Posted February 2, 2014 No poll needed because Valyrio will not be opened for a guild sign-up. It will need a leader, members will me more spread throughout different guilds etc. And above all, it's a guild made up for story purpose. If you like Valyrio so much you can always make Valyrian free builds!
