xenologer Posted April 23, 2007 Posted April 23, 2007 (I hope that image link works) found this on ebay Given the rarity of female minifigs, this one stuck out... Anyone recognize her? I'm thinking it might be for the new Castle theme thats coming out soon, but... do you know?
exo attack Posted April 23, 2007 Posted April 23, 2007 Ask Gylman, I am sure this was in a CC entry of his, and he is the keychain man....
gylman Posted April 23, 2007 Posted April 23, 2007 Nah, this has been around for about 3 years. http://www.bricklink.com/catalogItem.asp?G=850744 There are two stories about this. One version is that it belonged to the KKII theme, but there are no figs like it in KK to my knowledge. I am skeptical. The other says that it was supposed to be Hermione from HP going to some ball or dance (? Yule Ball with Krum). While there is no HP set to my knowledge that has this fig, her gown may have more than a passing resemblance ot the pink skirt of the minifig. http://static.flickr.com/26/65809561_7a218b4787_o.jpg However, the Goblet of Fire sets were from 2005, and this keychain was from 2004.... so I doubt this theory too. I personally think it is just a generic princess keychain that TLC just put together for sale for no good reason other than that keychains rock!
xenologer Posted April 23, 2007 Author Posted April 23, 2007 Thanks for the info Glyman Happen to have seen this one in person? I'm kinda curious how the cloth skirt works, whether its a special leg/base piece, or if its more or less like a cloth cape just sandwiched between the normal minifig leg and torso pieces...

Of course I have one in person! Yes, the cloth is sandwiched between the legs and the torso sections. Good call. Cheers. G
Wout Posted April 24, 2007 Posted April 24, 2007 It would be nice if they also made a normal minifig from her in a small set. :-$
xenologer Posted April 24, 2007 Author Posted April 24, 2007 It would be nice if they also made a normal minifig from her in a small set. :-$ I remember there was a keychain removal tutorial someplace (?where?)... it pretty much amounts to pulling hard with a pair of pliers. I suppose it falls into the forbidden parts modification realm... but seems a nicer fate to be used in a moc than slowly scratched up by keys...

Only problem after removal of the keychain remains the big Lego logo on the back of the fig which can't be concealed by putting on bodyarmours among other things, because the head is still solidly glued....
xenologer Posted April 24, 2007 Author Posted April 24, 2007 the head is still solidly glued.... I was under the impression that the heads are not glued; just held on solidly by the keychain anchor pin. ExoForce keychains still let you twist the heads around to change faces for example. Anyone know the link for that tutorial? I'm kinda curious about how to deal with a glued waistline.
gylman Posted April 24, 2007 Posted April 24, 2007 http://www.flickr.com/photos/countblockula...57594151599107/ Usually the hip and legs are glued. Not removable I suspect, unless teh glue gives. All the other parts are movable and removable once the pin is taken out.
