efferman Posted February 26, 2014 Posted February 26, 2014 thank you very much for the info, the hook on to sale for public was not set. does it work now? Quote
Dafgek81 Posted February 26, 2014 Posted February 26, 2014 Hello Efferman, Yes it works, thank you. But how much do the covers cost? Or are you waiting on other people who want to have these covers so we can make a whole lot of them so the become cheaper? Quote
efferman Posted February 26, 2014 Posted February 26, 2014 You can not see a price? When iam not logged in the discs are priced out with 5,06 euro and i have no control about the price. Quote
davidmull Posted February 26, 2014 Posted February 26, 2014 (edited) Efferman why do u need discs on the wheels they look strange? Edited February 26, 2014 by davidmull Quote
efferman Posted February 26, 2014 Posted February 26, 2014 Have you seen the rims on the real volvo l350f? Quote
D3K Posted February 26, 2014 Posted February 26, 2014 The disks look great! Could couple them with a black rim to get the impression of a bigger tire/rim ratio How are the colours coming out of shapeways? Will they be able to make a Lego Yellow? Quote
efferman Posted February 26, 2014 Posted February 26, 2014 i dont know, but yellow seems not available on shapeways. maybe order white and flexible and then paint them. Quote
jantjeuh Posted February 26, 2014 Posted February 26, 2014 Yup, agreed. Makes the wheels look a lot better. Quote
Dafgek81 Posted March 1, 2014 Posted March 1, 2014 How does that wheelcover fit, directly on the egde of the rimm, or does it sick deeper in the rimm, like the rimm of the real loader? Quote
davidmull Posted March 1, 2014 Posted March 1, 2014 Wheels look better as they are in my opinion. Them covers look like dinner plates. Quote
Dafgek81 Posted March 2, 2014 Posted March 2, 2014 Hello Efferman, I would like to see them fitted on the rims and on a loader like the 42030 or M_Longers Liebherr loader. Quote
Original poster Posted March 2, 2014 Posted March 2, 2014 Another forum I'm on are doing a group buy in 42030, can't wait to get it! Quote
efferman Posted March 2, 2014 Posted March 2, 2014 Someone has ordered the rim covers, hopefully he make some pictures. Quote
Rishab N Posted March 2, 2014 Posted March 2, 2014 Those covers look great and look like they'll really improve it! Quote
ritztoys Posted March 2, 2014 Posted March 2, 2014 Someone has ordered the rim covers, hopefully he make some pictures. I don't know how popular those wheel covers are, but I did order four of them. I just finished M_longers L580 loader and thought that it would be a great addition to the beautiful looks of this MOC. I have some plastic covering rattle-can paint that matches the Lego Yellow really well. I will post pictures when I get them painted and installed. Quote
davidmull Posted March 3, 2014 Posted March 3, 2014 Another forum I'm on are doing a group buy in 42030, can't wait to get it! Can't wait myself. There's a lot of rim covers talk on here today. The model will be great tho :) Quote
ritztoys Posted March 3, 2014 Posted March 3, 2014 Hey Guys, A little off topic, I got a delivery date for my wheel covers, hopefully here before the weekend. These should help any heavy equipment models look better, even Lego 'Flagship' kits. Quote
efferman Posted March 3, 2014 Posted March 3, 2014 Cool, can you pleas make a picture from the unpainted part? Quote
ritztoys Posted March 3, 2014 Posted March 3, 2014 Cool, can you pleas make a picture from the unpainted part? No problem, as I have heard you say! ( I will post 'before' and 'after' photos, so everyone can see the real product. ) Quote
ritztoys Posted March 5, 2014 Posted March 5, 2014 Thanks efferman for creating this part, OK guys I got my parts today, there was some "flashing" left over from printing in the axle hole. If you have a square profile ' needle file ', a few minutes cleaning the axle hole with the file is all it takes. The piece is a little' grainy ', but I figure after painting to match the Lego Yellow color, there probably won't be any grainy surface to be seen. ( I haven't painted this yet, so I'm guessing from my paint experience ) The imitation bolts all look good with good form and the part is flat with no twisting of any kind. This fits into the Unimog Wheels very well, it settles down inside the rim against the axle hub just fine. There is about 1/8" of rim showing after piece is pushed against axle hub. I can hardly wait to get this painted and installed on my L580 loader created by M_longer. Looks good in my book.................. Again, looks good........................ Quote
