Guesstimating 10-20k... as for retail: you'd have to factor in producing the old greys again ;-)

God Bless,

After a long time I have a new idea which would complete a new/the old gold mine:

Wild West Miners' Canteen

a canteen (first floor: kitchen with cooker, sink, oven and a table with a seat,

entrance with stair to upstairs, second floor: miners' dining-hall with two tables and six seats)

including a big tree, a pan, a knife, a pot, some cups and glases, a horse, a pick and a shovel

minifigs: cook, maidservant, three miners and one robber

By the way: When do you think you are going to present us your next WW MOC, Brick Miner? I'm very curious about it!

Imagine all these ideas becoming sets *y*

Including a New Ghost town subtheme

Just Imagine.............

I doubt it, but it is a neat thought.

On a side note Piranha, I like your new avatar. Now we need to form a cowboy club.

lets just say your gonna like it... though, i've done something new with this one... i've taken pictures of it alone, and also next to official sets, so that you get a feel-by-comparison of the model. it makes for an interesting little "extra." its been fun putting it together.

wait, pirates are coming back ??? did i miss something in my absence 8-

As I read in this topic http://eurobricks.hosting.ipsyn.com/eurofo...opic=11377&st=0 that the classic Lego products are sold very well, we Wild West fans might perhaps be lucky and see some new WW sets in about 20??.

What do you think about this thought?

And Birck Miner: Where is your MOC?! Do you want that I have sleepless nights because you don't present us your new MOC and so I have always to think about what it will be and how it will look like and ...?! (-:

in regard to the LEGO report concerning their "classic" lines.

i personally think LEGO should replace the word "classic" with "standard" or "staple" in this report. i think the word classic is giving us the wrong impression. for example, LEGO said the three lines they were happy with were city and technic (which they defined as classic) and SW (which they defined as a new classic). to me, it seems the definition of classic is becoming blurred, because it doesn't seem fitting to classify the WW and SW lines in a similar "classic-ness."

first i think LEGO should define what they mean by "classic" so we don't formulate misplaced ideas. for example, does classic refer to a traditional line that has always brought the company and its patrons success (this seems to be the implied meaning, sense SW is now considered a new classic by the company.) however, if this is the definition, then WW definitely doesn't fit into the classic term. because in fact, the theme only lasted two years, it definitely wasn't a LEGO tradition.

this is the reason i say that when reading the word classic in the report, we should be mindful of the meaning... what i think LEGO is trying to say is that their "staple lines" are what they are happy with. "staple" just doesn't sound as impressive as "classic" in business reports.

in regard to my MOC... your very funny KD. that is very flattering :-D but you know, you can always predict when my next MOC is coming because its 4 months since the last one, and always around the first of the month.

i think this week i'll publish it :-P

thats a food idea KD !!! and since town plan is a revisit to an old LEGO town set, the western town super set could be a revisit to this old set...

i can honestly say, i could see it - with all of these AFOL specific sets, there could be room for one WW release.

it's not too far off - BM

I actually thought of a remake of this set, too.

Hopefully you're right, Brick Miner, and we'll get a WW "Super Set" or some new WW sets in the near future.

I would so much like some new WW sets! (I mean: The capability and the ideas are so rich that I simply don't understand why it seems that we shell not get some!)

The idea of a Wild West Super Set like the classic one depicted is an excellent idea. I tried building one earlier in the year but kept making the buildings too large. They would need to be fairly small to include a few (like a WW street scene).

In regard to the buildings that you mentioned KD, a saloon is a definate building and missing from the WW theme. A Post or Telegraph Office would be a nice addition as well. I don't know about a bank though since we already have one in Gold City Junction. How about a hotel though?

Definately need a red stagecoach. Great ideas! Let's have Lego do it.

P.S. I started a thread in the Community forum regarding interest in WW history and Ghost Towns that's received no responses. If you are interested in the discussion, provide your feedback.

Do you make a new topic and show us your WW street scene (Would be very nice!)or did you already destroy it?

Thank you very much for that praise, The Brickster!

Yes, I need a stagecoach, too. Without stagecoach and saloon the WW theme is no WW theme!

I think that if TLC hopefully releases a WW "Super Set" then there surely will be included some robbers and of course a bank, too. I mean: Look at next year's new amazing 10184 Town Plan - TLC did include a petrol station although we've got enough petrol stations (for me it'lle be the third one) and even for the JFOLs which don't own older petrol stations there is this year's new petrol station. If you ask me: It'll be the same with a possible WW "Super Set": A bank will surely be included although one was already released.

A hotel would be a very nice idea. I remember having seen one of your WW MOCs some time ago - didn't you create something called "shady-in hotel" or something like this? In any case it looked very well desiigned and with some nice interior and without that Ghost Town look (which I personally like) it would be a perfect addition to a WW street scene!

Like already mentioned: It isn't due to too little ideas that we don't get new WW sets - but it's due to TLC's will - and that will can sadly not be changed by us. So we only must hope that one day TLC will bring back the WW theme - let's hope!!!

I have got two new ideas for WW sets:

Indians' Funeral Procession

a rocky landscape with some shrubs, an implied lake and a fireplace

including a stretcher, a horse and some other stuff

minifigs: Indian chief, dead Indian and 3-4 Indians to carry the stretcher

Hold-Up On The Indians' Treasure Transport

a implied forest landscape with a little river, some shrubs and trees

including a canoe, two paddles, a treasure box and some gold pieces

minifigs: two Indians and two robbers

What do you think? Some other ideas?

I reassessed it and maybe you're right Brick Miner and we'll get something like a WW Main Street somewhere in the future.

Please compare http://www.peeron.com/inv/sets/365-1?showpic=7098 and http://www.brickshelf.com/cgi-bin/gallery.cgi?i=2774257 - do you see the very similar composition of the pictures (left side - middle - right side) on the back side of each of these set boxes?

- I'm hoping and hoping that we'll get new WW sets!!!!! -

yes, the thing that is interesting about the WW theme is that the scope is not far from city or town. i mean, all the same buildings and themes exist within the two themes, just in a different time period: residential buildings, a commercial district (downtown), industry, and transportation (like trains, carriages instead of cars). only the WW has just a slight bit more personality (sheriff over police, and bandits over criminals). so to seee LEGO release a town plan type set in a WW setting seems very natural.

-------------------------------------------------

also, i know this is a bit far fetched, but... my favorite comic book western character is getting his own movie in 2008 or 09, jonah hex.

ASW11FC_OO_20385_CGC.jpg

LEGO has licensed DC properties already (batman), if the movie is sucessful and geared toward a younger audience, we could hope to see a license. now, i know LEGO usually only handels super popular properties, spongebob, spiderman, batman, etc... but they have been known to do some lesser known titles, like avatar (what is that anyway ??? :-P ).

its a very far fetched idea, but one can hope right ??? - BM
