Brick Miner Posted June 7, 2007 Posted June 7, 2007 The Coffin Crafter: Includes a small shop that produces coffins. Inside we can see the store owner measuring some poor chap who's due for a shootout along with the shop owner's desk, pet owl, and various wooden coffins.~Retails for around $35-40 i've been think of doing an undertaker with office... very similar to what you have here berry.im just not sure if an undertaker should be placed in the standard WW setting, or if it should be better placed in ghost town. -------------------------------------------------- on a related note, i've been doing some research in non-LEGO western hobbies (such as gaming, and model train building) for more set ideas. i have come across a couple sites that may be of some interest to those building to expand on the town of LEGOREDO... http://www.wildweststructures.com/ this site has a great list of town buildings, with authentic construction. i believe each building is based on a historical reference. i know i recognize the court house from the legendary town of tombstone... his list includes a saloon, pool hall, barber, train station (freight), dress shop (for the ladies), courthouse, bank, livery/blacksmith, mercantile, doctor office, church, newspaper/printing office, gallows, telegraph, hotel, water tower, undertaker, train station (passenger), gunsmith, and marshall. -------------------------------------------------- another one, is this... http://www.erichotz.com/whitewash.html i guess its a miniature game, but the old west town could be a very helpful reference for a LEGO WW enthusiast. most of the same buildings featured in the previous site, are repeated here... but there are a few extra, like a land claims office (for staking a gold claim, i think this is a good and necessary structure for LEGOREDO). - Brick Miner Quote
Klaus-Dieter Posted June 7, 2007 Posted June 7, 2007 (edited) The Brickster, I've seen your nice creations Shady Inn Hotel and Snake Oil Wagon (http://www.maj.com/gallery/brickster4/LegoGraveStone/shadyinn6.jpg and http://www.maj.com/gallery/brickster4/Lego...SnakeOil/4.jpg). Very nice sets. They would fit perfectly to the WW theme: The Shady Inn Hotel to Brick Miner's Haunted Pass as ghost city and the Snake Oil Wagon perhaps to my Ghost Train proposal as ghost landscape. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Now to all of you who browse this forum: How big do you think are our chances that TLC will give us some new Wild West sets in the following years? Piranha Posted June 7, 2007 Author Posted June 7, 2007 (edited) i see this is becoming my duty :-D thanks again for starting this thread, P. i have referenced it a few times now *y* - Brick Miner No problem Hows work coming on your next MOC? :-) Great ideas guys now all we need is someone to make all these sets.......*looks around room Who could we get? ;-) Ranch 29.99:Wait its been mentioned already Indian treasure cave 19.99:Darn this too Saloon 49.99:Hmmm its looks like all the good ideas have been taken Well I ask for ideas and I get em so now I must go back and think of every set possible X-D Piranha Edited June 7, 2007 by Piranha Quote
Klaus-Dieter Posted June 8, 2007 Posted June 8, 2007 (edited) I have a new set propsal: WW Dealer's Covered Wagon a covered wagon (with a secret compartment with a safe & co) and a little landscape with some rocks and shrubs including two coach horses, some barrels and boxes filled with cups, glasses, weapons, food and other stuff, some gold and an oil lamp minifigs: dealer, cowboy and two Indians (With dealer I don't mean a drug dealer!) I know this idea is similar to Piranha's first set proposal mentioned in that forum, but nevertheless it is different. Edited June 8, 2007 by Klaus-Dieter Quote
Klaus-Dieter Posted June 8, 2007 Posted June 8, 2007 (edited) And here is another idea: WW Paddle Wheel Steamer (perhaps as S@H Exclusive because it would be very big and expensive) a paddle wheel steamer (downstairs: engine room and stockroom, first floor: load floor for cows and horses, upstairs: some passenger cabins and the bridge) with a landing stage and a little depot with little office (where the tickets can be bought, too) including some barrels, boxes, oil lamps, some food, cargo stuff, suitcases, tickets, banknotes, horses and cows minifigs: engineer, captain, two depot workers, a robber, the robbers' boss, sheriff, cowboy and two citizens What about this? Wouldn't a paddle wheel steamer be a nice set? Edited June 8, 2007 by Klaus-Dieter Quote
Norrington Posted June 8, 2007 Posted June 8, 2007 hmmm... ok, so the suggestion is that, if we remove the alcohol from the bar... then the bar is ok for children, and subsequently ok for an official LEGO release. i suppose that is possible.however, removing alcohol from the bar in a cafe (breezeway cafe) is much easier than removing the alcohol from a bar in a saloon ;-) How 'bout there are bottles, but they have printing on them that says "Root Beer" ;-) Quote
iamded Posted June 9, 2007 Posted June 9, 2007 Great idea. Everyone likes root beer! Or you could label it Sarsaparilla (fancy name for root beer). Quote
Asuka Posted June 9, 2007 Posted June 9, 2007 What about this? Wouldn't a paddle wheel steamer be a nice set? Yeah, definitely! *y* But it should include a casino and gamblers and dancers.... X-D Quote
Brick Miner Posted June 9, 2007 Posted June 9, 2007 Great idea. Everyone likes root beer! Or you could label it Sarsaparilla (fancy name for root beer).this is the best progress we have made on the saloon delema yet... "sarsaparilla" thats a great idea !!! i could imagine a poster behind the bar advertising the drink... i think that would be more likely for LEGO to do, than having it printed on the bottles.- BrickMiner Quote
Klaus-Dieter Posted June 9, 2007 Posted June 9, 2007 Yeah, definitely! *y* But it should include a casino and gamblers and dancers.... X-D The casino and the gamblers and dancers are a very good idea, Asuka, but I would more like them to see in a seperate set than in the WW paddle wheel steamer. What about a WW casino set?! Quote

Brick Miner Posted June 9, 2007 Posted June 9, 2007 Great ideas and concepts. zouave Posted June 9, 2007 Posted June 9, 2007 What if they started an entirely new theme like wild west.I've got it,"Forest Frontier".Instead of desert, there's forest. This could offer a chance to add in farms and new minifig designs. Quote
Klaus-Dieter Posted June 10, 2007 Posted June 10, 2007 What if they started an entirely new theme like wild west.I've got it,"Forest Frontier".Instead of desert, there's forest. This could offer a chance to add in farms and new minifig designs. I agree, zouave, that would be an alternative. But I think the term Wild West is more popular and people also know what it is. With "Forest Frontier" they perhaps have their problems, don't you think? A set which could be nice for a "Forest Frontier" would be following: WW Lumberjack a little landskape with some very big trees and a few little trees including two axes, a saw and a horse with a rope and some shackles to draggle the felled trees to the next train stop or river minifigs: two lumberjacks Mexican Cantina 19.99:When the gunslingers don't want to be caught by the law they hide out in thier favorite Saloon. No one knows who they are but they do serve a lot of Sarsaparilla.Includes bar tender, 1 citizen wearing a large sombreo, with new torso that shows a poncho, and an outlaw. Also includes 1 level cantina with lots of trans brown cones and some tables.Gold Panning 9.99:Help the miner pan for gold in the little stream but watch out for rattlesnakes.Includes miner, pan, some pices of gold and some scenery. That are great ideas, Piranha! The Mexican Cantina would bring something new to the WW theme. The Gold Panning would be a little minifig set which Lego did also with the old WW sets and which wouldn't be very expensive so consequently everybody could buy it. Quote
Klaus-Dieter Posted June 10, 2007 Posted June 10, 2007 (edited) well, thanks KD !!! but now that LEGO has released so many "haunted/evil" pieces with its castle 2007 line, i am re-imagining the ghost town concept.LEGO really brought some fun fantasy to medieval life, and i want to do the same with WW life !!! I don't like the new "Castle" sets, they are horrible. (Please read my statement on http://eurobricks.hosting.ipsyn.com/eurofo...?showtopic=9827 , too) I hope you won't bring too much horror to the Haunted Pass, Brick Miner, because otherwise your nice MOC set could be destroyed, I fear. As you redesign your Haunted Pass MOC, three ideas for improvement: -I would like to have instead of the guns or in addition to them some barrels and boxes filled with some things in the merchandiser's shop so that it is more realistic and gets more life -What about a "down-coming" ghost behind the entrance of the hotel which frightens the in coming people? (like in set 6036: http://www.peeron.com/scans/6036-1/) -Did you think of some cobwebs in the buildings? THat would be a nice detail. Besides, what about a ghost train?: WW Ghost Train a ghost train with a steam engine, a passenger car and a cargo car including a big tree, three bats, an owl, some tracks, a horse, cargo stuff, a filled treasure box, an oil lamp and some cobwebs inside the train minifigs: cowboy, the robbers' boss, a robber, a skeleton and two gloomy ghosts Edited June 10, 2007 by Klaus-Dieter Quote

Klaus-Dieter Posted June 10, 2007 Posted June 10, 2007 (edited) In addition to my Ghost Train proposal I've got two another ideas for the ghost town subtheme of wild West: Ghost Carriage a dark carriage and a big tree includes a coch horse, a horse, an owl and two bats minifigs: sheriff, ghost cowboy (like the one in Brick Miner's Haunted Pass set) and a gloomy ghost Ghosts including a cactus and some shackles minifigs: three gloomy ghosts And in addition to the "Forest Frontier": WW Lumberjacks' Camp a little cottage next to a river and a landscape with some trees including a camp fire, some camping stuff, a horse, an oil lamp, some felled trees and a raft to transport them on the river minifigs: two lumberjacks, one woman and a ranger What are your ideas about these set proposals? Have you removed them of the server?yes, since i am redoing them i wan't people to forget about the orginal designs for awhile, that way, when the redesigns are presented, they can be looked upon with fresh eyes... in a way, i want the redesigns to be looked at as MOCs of their own, and not just re-designs of old MOCs.------------------------------------------------ You should try. You have to start somewhere.i agree... im almost ashamed of my original Gunslingers Saloon 6758 :-D and to think, when i made it i thought it was prefect... still love the card table trick though.- Brick Miner Quote
Klaus-Dieter Posted June 11, 2007 Posted June 11, 2007 You should try. This was one of my first WW MOCs. You have to start somewhere. After a year or two of building: OK, you and Brick Miner have convinced me. I'll build one of my WW set proposals. But don't await too much! I will only build the some of the little sets because you needn't so much (special) bricks for them ... perhaps the Wild West Hold-Up On The Governor. The only problem is that I don't know how to post pictures ... and without pictures it would be a bit difficult to show you what I've built, don't you think?! Perhaps somebody would be so nice to tell me how to post pictures. Nevertheless: Everbody of you is invited to take my WW set ideas and create a or some MOC set(s). The only term is that he/she will present the set with pictures and discription on Eurobricks. So, WW MOC creators, come on! I'm interested how you'll interpret my ideas! Quote
