dillthepill Posted April 21, 2007 Posted April 21, 2007 Here is a Takadox sword and here are splashy Barraki squid. I won't get either, I just wanted you guys to know. Quote
Strikin' Venom Posted April 21, 2007 Posted April 21, 2007 I still don't get why Lego makes these... Quote
PSPguy Posted April 21, 2007 Posted April 21, 2007 Wow. *wacko* TLC has got to remeber they arent Power Rangers. :-P Quote
Lord Admiral Helden Ravensdorn Posted April 22, 2007 Posted April 22, 2007 No, they're not, but they're sure as hell trying to be. Quote
casewindu Posted April 23, 2007 Posted April 23, 2007 I really dont understand why Lego make these! they should just stick to constrution toys! :-X (does anybody know anyone who actually buys these and if so why do they appeal to them?) Quote
Zaktan of the Shadows Posted April 24, 2007 Posted April 24, 2007 these are horrible. I despise those splashy squids... -ZotS Quote
Lord Admiral Helden Ravensdorn Posted April 26, 2007 Posted April 26, 2007 The Target Auidience, as seen here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RWixvHRd5Co&NR Just loves this trash. Quote
InnerRayg Posted April 26, 2007 Posted April 26, 2007 The Target Auidience, as seen here:http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RWixvHRd5Co&NR Just loves this trash. Hold the phone. You mean KIDS buy LEGO? Holy crap. Sorry, long time reader, first time poster. Quote
Lord Admiral Helden Ravensdorn Posted May 2, 2007 Posted May 2, 2007 By "Target Audience as Pictured Here" I meant crazy 6-year-olds singing "Move Along", having their sets hack at each other with a vague conception of the plot and powers, and eventually destroying and/or losing their sets. Quote
Visorak-kal Posted May 2, 2007 Posted May 2, 2007 That was funny, I didn't get it at first. I was saying, "Who is this guy?" Then I saw the name, of course. Eh, take it with a grain of salt, guys. Chances are they make LEGO money, otherwise they wouldn't be doing it. IT makes them money, it ain't part of official storyline, and Bionicle sets don't have them yet, so I kind of *cough*ignoreit*cough*. It's like Free the Band. Yeah, it's ridiculous, but I'm not seeing the AAR in the Bionicle Universe yet, so... No big deal for me. Quote
zero1312 Posted May 3, 2007 Posted May 3, 2007 Here is a Takadox sword and here are splashy Barraki squid. I won't get either, I just wanted you guys to know. Psh. Next! *n* Quote
JINZONINGEN73 Posted May 12, 2007 Posted May 12, 2007 No, they're not, but they're sure as hell trying to be. Not Power Rangers enough, for me. I'd love a good, sturdy, easily detachable (no disassembly) kind of 80's giant robot interlocking limb mechanism. Large combiner robots aren't the easiest things to pull off in Lego. Quote
maiq the liar Posted June 8, 2007 Posted June 8, 2007 Hold the phone. You mean KIDS buy LEGO? Holy crap. Sorry, long time reader, first time poster. I recall buying KK1 on my first trip to chicago in late '01...(Mind you i'm 12, don't treat me like a little kid...) Good memories...of course, i had to be a moron and dismantle the sets to make a shoddy subway. Quote
john cleese Posted June 8, 2007 Posted June 8, 2007 my reaction to these things was initially :-X :-X :-X :-X :-X but after time i had a change of heart now i :-X :-X :-X :-X :-X :-X :-X whenever i see this kind of crap Even if this does make lego money, it uses money that could otherwise be used to makesure pieces are consistent in color and keep quality standards high. rew12 Posted June 11, 2007 Posted June 11, 2007 Target Audience. :-) Well, when I look at these "toys", my opinion about the Target Audience changes. In fact the Bionicle comes more and more <insert that tiresome argument>, both sets and, unfortunately, storyline. So, TLG releases some "toys" which make my opinion about the whole Bionicle theme worse and worse. Could you imagine these things to be put in the Bionicle universe? Making cash can destroy every well-started Lego theme. |-/ Quote
Visorak-kal Posted June 11, 2007 Posted June 11, 2007 rew12, all that you spoke of would be a problem... if these WERE Bionicle sets. They're not. They are little squids and swords for little children who may like BIONICLE. They are not in the storyline, they have nothing to do with the storyline, and I sure don't see any sets looking like them. You can find a million of this type of stuff for everything imaginable, from STAR WARS to Spiderman to Batman and beyond. (No pun intended.) How can this seriously affect your view of BIONICLE? It's not even like these replaced the sets. When these become the official sets, then I'll worry. Oh, wait, that's not going to happen. VK Quote
rew12 Posted June 11, 2007 Posted June 11, 2007 Heh. I wanted to tell that making stupid "toys" only to give them Bionicle logo and get some cash (Target Audience) is typical when a theme gets popular. As you said, stuff like this is everywhere, not only in Lego-based themes. And talking about these "toys" put into the storyline was only a horrific vision and the worst dream of the Bionicle fan. :-D Don't take it serious. Misunderstanding... Quote
Visorak-kal Posted June 11, 2007 Posted June 11, 2007 I get you now. :) No problem, It had seemed as if you were deathly serious. I was even about to ask, "Why are you even posting if it so horrible?" I see now that you were being satirical, and it didn't actually mean much. Okay, no problem. They're not as bad as the Vakama Hordika talking mask in 2005. His voice was ridiculous and so evil. LEGO has at least improved in the fanfare. lol. :-D Quote
JoeMI6 Posted June 11, 2007 Posted June 11, 2007 Meh, life goes on. If there's a good product made primarily for kids, they're gonna want to make more money out of it. Even if it is with bad merchandise. Quote
JINZONINGEN73 Posted June 12, 2007 Posted June 12, 2007 (edited) While the squid faces are a bit goofy and juvenile, I know I'd want that sword if still a kid. It's got a good look to it. And I imagine it's a whole lot less bruise / bloody welt-inducing than the branches from the forsythia bush that me and my older brother used to whip each other's flesh to ribbons with. Ah, those were the days... *wub* Spilled plasma and yellow flowers, everywhere... Edited June 12, 2007 by JINZONINGEN 73 Quote

Is Bionicle now designed for SUCH little children? Edited June 17, 2007 by rew12 Quote

iamded Posted June 21, 2007 Posted June 21, 2007 I remember when they made watches, and alarm clocks. Useful stuff. This is just ridiculous. Quote
