darylt Posted January 25, 2014 Posted January 25, 2014 I have had a go at making my first Techic Kit 42008B however when I try to activate the motor it appears to jam up and then nothing happens... I'm just hoping that it's not one of the first bits that got built, right in the centre that's the problem as it will mean pretty much starting from Scratch. Do you have any specific advice for this set or any generic advice for troubleshooting this type of problem please? Quote
Alasdair Ryan Posted January 25, 2014 Posted January 25, 2014 Hello Darylt and welcome to Eurobricks. The first thing that comes into mind is the driving rings (or gearbox) not engaging properly, have you checked this? Quote
andythenorth Posted January 25, 2014 Posted January 25, 2014 When I built the A model for this (without paying much attention), I missed parts from one end of the gearbox in the centre of the chassis. Specifically I missed some spacers towards the rear of the truck, and then located a beam out of place by one stud. Resulted in similar issues to the one you're describing. Hard to describe the location and I don't have any pictures I can post, sorry Also wasn't sure if you're building the A or B model? Quote
darylt Posted January 25, 2014 Author Posted January 25, 2014 andythenorth - I would guess thats my problem too. I was just hoping that I may not have to take the whole thing apart to sort it out as that was one of the first bits that gets built. Im building the B model. There seems to be three spindles next to each other which all lock together using a cog and that seems to be jamming it all up. This is a photo with the motor in-situ showing the three cogs that I was talking about; This is a photo of the same section without the motor Quote
DrJB Posted January 25, 2014 Posted January 25, 2014 (edited) In the first picture, the cardan appears to be not connected ... Edited January 25, 2014 by DrJB Quote
MrTekneex Posted January 25, 2014 Posted January 25, 2014 (edited) Try to turn the M-Motor: it locks the 16 tooth/clutch gears ;) Edited January 25, 2014 by djshiver Quote
allanp Posted January 25, 2014 Posted January 25, 2014 (edited) It appears that you have placed a red cross block incorrectly. Picture You need to have the round hole on that shaft, not the + hole. Edited January 27, 2014 by Blakbird : Fixed bad link. Quote
