Nom Carver Posted January 21, 2014 Posted January 21, 2014 After disassembling most of my sets, the only vehicle that I kept built was the AT-ST from the battle of endor set, but I realized how flimsy it looked to me and even though I moded it I was not satisfied and since I totally dislike play features and useless mechanisms like that silly "walking" function I started to work with my new surplus of bricks and came up with this one, a combination of characteristics of other walkers like the previos versions of the AT-ST and the latest AT-RT, what I wanted was to make it sturdier and mostly brick built, so without further ado, here it is: P1010003 por Nom Carver, en Flickr P1010010 por Nom Carver, en Flickr P1010018 por Nom Carver, en Flickr P1010027 por Nom Carver, en Flickr more details on my flickr: Quote
TWP Posted January 21, 2014 Posted January 21, 2014 Good work! You did implement the good part of both designs! also you managed to give it a bit of your own twist too, though it still could use some minor improvements. Quote
Sir Brickalot Posted January 21, 2014 Posted January 21, 2014 Really nice MOC. I'd love to see TLG make one similar to this. Quote

I would like to hear your recommendations regarding to improvements. Really nice MOC. I'd love to see TLG make one similar to this. Thanks Sir Brickalot! it does look very TLG like since is relatively simple and not so detailed, I think it would make a neat little set. Quote
Manx Posted January 21, 2014 Posted January 21, 2014 It's really a nice mixture of both designs and I have to admit it looks pretty good. But, where's Chewie? Quote
DonBrizzel Posted January 21, 2014 Posted January 21, 2014 Very nicely done. Proportions look right, and you've managed to capture all the essential details. Quote
arc Posted January 22, 2014 Posted January 22, 2014 (edited) excellent work once again nom carver! it's much better than any of the ones lego put out IMO. Edited January 22, 2014 by arc Quote
Nom Carver Posted January 22, 2014 Author Posted January 22, 2014 Thanks a lot guys, glad you liked it, regarding to chewie, this version has been improved to be able to resist against furry creature assaults. Quote
Brickdoctor Posted January 22, 2014 Posted January 22, 2014 Nice work, Nom! Definitely looks like it could be an official set, and you've accomplished your goal of lending a more solid look to the most recent of TLG's iterations. One thing I'd change is that it really needs more of an inwards slope going down along the sides of the 'head'. That's one of the things that the '09 version had and the previous two didn't, and which really helped that official version to look less blocky. Quote
Brickdoctor Posted January 22, 2014 Posted January 22, 2014 Cool That's enough. You've been warned about this before; this style of posting is not acceptable on EB. Let's have a chat. Quote
Gremer Posted January 22, 2014 Posted January 22, 2014 Great work Nom Carver! Can it light Ewoks on fire? Quote
Chills Posted January 22, 2014 Posted January 22, 2014 Another great MOC, Nom. I like how it combines the best parts of the AT-ST from 7657 and 8038. I like how the head section looks like more tight and finished than the one from 8038. Nice work. Quote

Thanks Doc, I will be brainstorming on a solution for that. Great work Nom Carver! Can it light Ewoks on fire? Of course! I actually intended to take a pic doing so . Another great MOC, Nom. Thanks Chills, sturdier is always better for me. Quote
Commander Colt Posted January 22, 2014 Posted January 22, 2014 Very Nice! Maybe see if you can have the front face section tilt back a bit and have something at the back of the roof that tilts up and is slotted. I really like the brick built look and sturdy design. Quote
Nom Carver Posted February 7, 2014 Author Posted February 7, 2014 Lovely MOC! Can the top part swivel? Thanks, I am not sure what do you mean, the head does swivel but only to the sides. Quote
miles teg Posted June 18, 2014 Posted June 18, 2014 This looks really good. It seems a lot more 'substantial' than previous Lego versions, I think brickdoctor is right though...it needs more of a angle on the 'cheeks' of the head. I like your solution to the twin side cannons, using a t bar piece by the look of it. Maybe the anti blast shields over the viewports could be a little bigger but that's just me. My favourite official version of the at st is 7657 because it looks solid and armoured, but the legs on yours look better somehow Quote
