For animated GIF's I personally use a freeware program called UnFreeZ. It's a really simple program. All you do is create all the frames of your animation as normal GIF's, drag them into the program, and set the time between each frame. And you're done! :-)

Sorry to bump this thread, but I was looking to make a few .gif files, but the program dosn't let you fo .jpgs, which is problematic. Can you transfer .jpg files to .gif files? Thanks.

Well, I don't and can't afford Photo shop and don't know what ACDSee is, so... um... yeah...

You're welcome. Why don't you try googling .gif conversion? Maybe there's some free software...

Fwiw, I've been using a free program called Irfanview for years now, and it does conversions from one type of graphic file to another.
Infranveiw does that!?! I downloaded it for resizing but now I can use it for conversions... MWA HA HA HA! Tremble in dear of my moving .gif images*! MWA HA HA HA!
