gunm Posted May 6, 2014 Posted May 6, 2014 Seems like you need more table space! But I do like that the PR overlooks the park. That really seems like a good design choice overall. Quote
henrylego Posted May 7, 2014 Author Posted May 7, 2014 thanks guys for all your comments @LT & Gunm: You are right, i need bigger table space. Hopefully i can come up with some solutions, i guess i still have 9 months time to think abou right, before the new modular coming up? @Zabdiel: Thanks for your recommendation on the park.. Quote
lightningtiger Posted May 8, 2014 Posted May 8, 2014 My suggestion.....maybe a L shaped table ? Quote
henrylego Posted May 8, 2014 Author Posted May 8, 2014 My suggestion.....maybe a L shaped table ? That is really a very good idea... L shaped table ..... hmmm that way, I don't have to worry about making my park bigger... but I can continuously display the coming modular houses. thanks LT Quote
lightningtiger Posted May 8, 2014 Posted May 8, 2014 Here's an idea........have a few 32x32 spaces set up as construction sites which can move on when you get the next modular to fill that site's place. Quote
gazumpty Posted May 8, 2014 Posted May 8, 2014 Here's an idea........have a few 32x32 spaces set up as construction sites which can move on when you get the next modular to fill that site's place. I like that idea...I seen a really nice 'Building Site' MOC on here a while ago...really adds to the life of a City Build. Quote
zabdiel Posted May 8, 2014 Posted May 8, 2014 I like the construction site idea too. A nice little layout. If you do MOCs, you should do a railway station that fits the style of the modulars. I'm not sure a railway station in the style of the modulars would look right. To me the train looks like a rapid transit / light rail type train due to the short coaches (I know Lego describe is a high speed train but that makes sense from a marketing perspective). If you assume it's some kind of light rail system then a more modern looking station would make sense, maybe with a low platform. I agree that a MOC station would look better than the one from the set as it's too short. One trick you could use if you don't want to build a full length station would be to have the station somewhere along the back of your town with an entrance between two of the modulars and a short platform in the bit you can see between the buildings. When looking from the front you could imagine that the platform continues behind the other modulars. I think you'd need to rearrange your modulars and you might end up with one modular which didn't fit... Quote
zandergb Posted May 11, 2014 Posted May 11, 2014 (edited) I suggest hiding some of your flex track under the crossing's tiles. EDIT: Remembering that you can't just straight replace the crossing track with flex track and have all the tiles fit, I found the thread that gave me the idea. Edited May 12, 2014 by zandergb Quote
doink Posted May 11, 2014 Posted May 11, 2014 Nice layout - I like how the park gives light into the rest of the town - brilliant work there. Quote
