Junpei Posted January 12, 2014 Posted January 12, 2014 OK, I see now. It just looked like an entirely solid construction at first glance, and somehow I didn't even see the springs. So what is the function of the double bent liftarms? Is there little enough suspension travel that they slide along the frame and prevent sideways movement? I'm not entirely sure I understand how the u-joints don't just pop out- I don't see any links at all. Are you saying the frictionless pins are here? If the pivot was there, then it would be a dependent trailing arm suspension; it would also require a spline shaft. Could someone please enlighten me a bit more thoroughly on this matter? TLH Quote
NevynPA Posted January 12, 2014 Posted January 12, 2014 I'd say it does look like a 'trailing arm' type suspension. Could probably find out in more detail by de-constructing the LDD file, but I don't have LDD on this computer. Quote
andythenorth Posted January 13, 2014 Posted January 13, 2014 It's trailing arm, you can see it here. I don't understand why the main shaft doesn't need a spline though, the rotation point should cause the shaft to disconnect. Maybe it's an unsolved issue in the model? Impressive MOC Quote
Energo Posted January 13, 2014 Posted January 13, 2014 Wow! It's awesome! Very compact construction with lots of different functions, like such ones, design looks realistic) To say shorter, WONDERFUL Quote
Samanen Posted January 16, 2014 Posted January 16, 2014 This is what TLG should give/have given us! Beautiful! Quote
Dennis Bosman Posted January 16, 2014 Posted January 16, 2014 When I saw the first picture I immediate thought it's a Chinese truck (model, shape of the cab). The model looks pretty good. I would like to see such combined with a Model Team like truck. The drum turned out very well with the Technic panels. Quote
