Hello, my name is Patrick, and I'm a relapsed Legoholic!

This is my first post in here, so hello to all! This is an astounding board, I'd never have guessed that there is such a huge amount of AFOLs around!

After having disregarded LEGO for over 20 years, I somehow ended up having too much time and money last year, and - I don't even remember why exactly - I stumbled over Lego set descriptions somewhere on the net. I was flabbergasted over the development and diversification, that Lego has gone through since I last played with it when I was a kid.

So I ended up buying some technic models (I loved the advancements that have happenend here!), namely the 42009 crane, the 8110 Unimog and the 9398 crawler, as well as some smaller models.

My gf and I also bought some Architecture models of places we've been to (I'm blessed with a more than understanding gf!).

And finally, being a huge SW fan (especially Ep IV-VI), I've come to check out the incredible amount of models that LEGO has made depicting this franchise.

I absolutely loved the detail which went into the UCS models, so I ended up giving myself the 10240 X-Wing and 10227 B-Wing as a christmas gift. Being relatively new, they were still affordable. I paid €400 for both, but I also got a €50 gift certificate for that purchase, which I used last week, to get me the 10188 Death Star (Subtracting the gift certificate, I paid only €320 for that, which is pretty good imo!)

I can't start to explain what fun I had building all of these sets, but I do prefer the stud-build of the "more regular" sets to the new studless liftarms in the technic models!

The Death Star was probably the most fun of all, especially since there are so few repetitive steps. Also, the detail which went into depicting all the iconic scenes is incredible!

I'd absolutely love to get all of the UCS models, but the amounts some of them are being traded for on the net are somewhat ridiculous! I'll probably still get the relatively cheap ones, or let them be given to me as presents, but sets that go into the four digit range are probably way out of my league

It's an absolute pity, because my collectors nerve has been triggered by these beautiful sets!

I could go on and on now, but the fact is: I'm back to loving it!

Welcome back to Lego and into Eurobricks :classic:

We all the UCS models, and every night we too cry about the sets we'll never get :cry3:

So are you planning to make some MOCs? There a lot of great SW creations here, so I think you'll enjoy the ride! Good luck on your journey back to Lego.
