DonBrizzel Posted January 23, 2014 Author Posted January 23, 2014 (edited) Thoughts on this weapon system? Edited January 23, 2014 by DonBrizzel Quote
BEAVeR Posted January 23, 2014 Posted January 23, 2014 It looks really good that way. The changes you've made to make all parts available aren't that noticable, and the new guns look very accurate. The only thing I can think of to give it a red tip, woud be to use flex hosing and a flick fire topping (that round red thing with a bar sticking out of it), or sliding red felx tube (if that even exists) over the bar, or using a technic bush... Anyway, that's just a minor problem to me. But I do find it amazing to see you keeping improving this model (this is like the tenth edition, isn't it?) Quote
BrickArtist Posted January 23, 2014 Posted January 23, 2014 (edited) It depends on the type of 1x1 tile with clip that you get. The older ones with the thicker, more squarish, dull-looking clips are a little more flexible; they'll probably be fine with the slight stress of not being clipped all the way. The newer ones with the rounder, shinier-looking clips are harder and will either crack or force themselves all the way on or all the way off. (or both) In any case, the stud-in-Technic-hole is a very robust connection, and especially considering the low weight of those fins that it's holding in place, that single connection shouldn't be a problem. Clips could still be used if you like the way it fills in the area, though. Yeah I agree completely about the older non-shine plastic clips, the unfortunate consequence is they break easier just rumbling in bins with that softer plastic. Brickdoctor Posted January 24, 2014 Posted January 24, 2014 Color might not be as accurate, but I really like that one. Screwdriver elements just make great micro/mini guns wherever you use them. If you want the red tip, then as BEAVeR said, you could use cut up flex tubing. I don't think it'll fit onto a bar (At least not easily; I've never tried it. But it's hard enough getting the brown rubber flex tubing from the Creator drink mixing set onto something the width of a bar, let alone a soft plastic normal flex tube.), but it'll definitely fit onto the end of the screwdriver. DonBrizzel Posted January 24, 2014 Author Posted January 24, 2014 Would cutting up the flex tube be considered an illegal connection? Quote
Brickdoctor Posted January 24, 2014 Posted January 24, 2014 Would cutting up the flex tube be considered an illegal connection? Possible sarcasm aside, obviously it doesn't work in LDD, but with physical bricks it's generally considered to be okay. Quote
DonBrizzel Posted January 24, 2014 Author Posted January 24, 2014 I will buy a red and orange flex tube as well then when I Bricklink this. Thanks for the tip! Quote
