Not really a review but a few comments on the 75030 Falcon microfighter

I bought it the other day and built it earlier, it was £8.99 from the lego store

Ship itself is nice and compact / chunky, but still has detail. Easily modifiable to alter where Han sits if you prefer a straight out Falcon (I'll pick up a second to do this I think). I prefer it to the old 4488, which always felt a little flat to me, and lacked detail in parts

The actual plastic, I dont know if its me or my imagination but the lego feels a little spongy at times, not every piece but some of them, its not a bad thing, just doesnt feel the same.

I like the set, I'm not convinced about the price, if the Microfighters were £6.99, then there are some (X wing, tie fighter) that I would buy plenty of, but for £8.99 I wont be buying multiples, I think its a little expensive. £7.99 might have been a tempting sweet spot. Hopefully when some stores do 3 for 2, I'll pick up more because getting 3 for £18 would be very good value I think. Its not that its bad just that one figure and a small ship for only £3 less than a battle pack seems expensive (or makes you think the battle packs are great value)

Overall I'd recommend anyone picking up a microfighter even if they are a bit unsure, I certainly dont think its disappointing, but I am a sucker for anything Falcon based.

Hi,

I was going to buy the Falcon today, but strangely the shop had all models but this one :-( So I bought the X-Wing.

I like it a lot. And for me it's a great idea to get a micro-set with the minifig inside it. Will be really cool for kids. Unlike teh Planet serie that I think are more for display, these sets are really to play around with them.

The X-Wing is really cute. More compact than the Planet Serie X-Wing.

I'm planing to but all microfighters sets. And may be after I will see if I buy more Falcon or X-Wing ;-)

I agree with you, a bit expensive. Here in Poland, the official price is 39pln, some shops have them at 49pln (10€ vs 12,5€). Cheaper than the Planet serie though.

I haven't seen them in real life yet (and hoping there will be some nice reviewes here), but from the pictures I have seen. I don't really care for the microfighters, and I much prefere the planet sets (only missing 1).

But then again, I have them for display and not for play...

They seem like an interesting idea, I haven't seen many chibi style Lego sets, and I for one enjoy the turbo tank one from the pictures.

The planets gave us some nice planets for display/use, but the sets themselves were just regular mini sets, whereas these are interesting because they do seem like a new and different take on these craft.

I agree that they are different in the good way where LEGO gives us a different look. And with a little modification they could make a nice and unique display piece instead of just plopping a mini fig on them and flicking missles throughout the house. If I had a son, I would buy these up and have fun building and playing with them together. I give kudos the LEGO for these releases and want to see more. If they make enough ships from OT, I may do a display set.
