Vader Posted March 1, 2005 Posted March 1, 2005 Gotta go with ESB i just loved the fact that the good guys didnt win at the end of the film, it was a great move by lucas and it did more to hype ROTJ than any advert could. Quote
jonfett Posted March 1, 2005 Posted March 1, 2005 I loved ESB as well, mainly the battle of Hoth.. I really enjoyed seeing this snow battle unlike all the space battles. And of course the rememberable "I am your father!" This also reminds me of a funny Simpsons episode, it shows when Homer and Marge were dating in the 70's. And when they were coming out of the movie walking past the line of people waiting to go in, Homer says, "Geesh! I can't believe that Vader is Lukes father" :D Jon. Quote
Luigi Posted March 1, 2005 Posted March 1, 2005 I too like the best this ep. Just because I like the Hoth Battle, Vader and the learning of Luke *wub* Quote
The Middleman Posted March 1, 2005 Posted March 1, 2005 ROTJ! You so can't beat the rancor. And you know it. Quote
jonfett Posted March 1, 2005 Posted March 1, 2005 ROTJ! You so can't beat the rancor. And you know it. Well with a big bone and a rock I think I could! ;) Jon. Quote
#1legofreak Posted March 4, 2005 Author Posted March 4, 2005 :X: I went agenst the flow & voted II. Quote
Sarg_Kulo Posted March 5, 2005 Posted March 5, 2005 I love epsiode 2. my order is 3 (hopefully) :P 2 5 4 6 1 Quote
mutley777 Posted March 5, 2005 Posted March 5, 2005 i also love empire but episode 4 has so many great moments. i find myself ff bits of empire but can quite happily watch ep4 all the way through. the new cgi parts of the final death star battle are stunning :-D Quote
Dark_Avenger Posted March 7, 2005 Posted March 7, 2005 I'll forever be a Return of the Jedi fan. Even though the final duel isn't as spectacular as Episode I or something, it's still the best; the raging emotions in it can't be beat. That, and I just like the movie on the whole. ESB is pretty close behind, though, that's got some unforgettable scenes. Quote
Jipay Posted March 8, 2005 Posted March 8, 2005 I think episode V and VI are a package. You can't have one without the other. Quote
xwingyoda Posted March 8, 2005 Posted March 8, 2005 Yep definitly ;) Than of course ep 4, 3, 2 and 1. We can only hope that ep3 will be much better than 1 & 2 (not very hard though :-D ). As you can tell I am not a big fan of the prequels for lots and lots of reasons! Quote
Vader Posted March 8, 2005 Posted March 8, 2005 I look at ep1 as a foundation for the rest of the films, it showed a galaxy where things were mostly peaceful which is a far cry from what we see at the start of ep4. I do feel that ep2 was a far much better film than the first and hopefully ep3 will improve on the second one. Quote
xwingyoda Posted March 8, 2005 Posted March 8, 2005 OK, ep 2 is a little better than ep 1, that's for sure ;) But come on, really they are an insult to the OT fans for so many reasons!!!! (even if they had great characters and great scenes!! I am talking on the overal) Just to name a few: way too much CGIs, fighters that look so much in advance to the OT being nearly 30 years before, horrible clone design (way too modern), a lightsaber duel with Yoda (I didn't know that SW was a comedy :P ). Oh well they had to please new fans... I'm sure that ep 3 will be way better (at least the short version of the script I read is purely awsome ;) Quote

I do feel that ep2 was a far much better film than the first and hopefully ep3 will improve on the second one. I consider the galaxy as nice in episode 3 and 4. I think with the empire everything was under controle. The books (I red almost all of them) that takes place after the movies shows the chaos and the political manipulations which makes you regret the empire big times. not to mention that the new extra terrest race that attacks the galaxy would have been nothing for the imperial fleet Quote
The Middleman Posted March 9, 2005 Posted March 9, 2005 If George Lucas had been restrained to the same techniques he used with the ORIGINAL TRILOGY, in its FIRST form, he would have produced the same kind of masterpieces he did with the OT. Unfortunately, he got carried away with his budget and his ego - and both are equally gigantic. Quote

Oh well they had to please new fans... I'm sure that ep 3 will be way better (at least the short version of the script I read is purely awsome ;) First of all, I'm gonna agree with you on one point: the amount of CGI reaches the point of absurdity. Am I right in saying Liam Neeson turned to alcohol abuse because he couldn't take filming in front of a blue screen with no actual sets, or was that just a rumor? Anyways, I think the reason that everything looks cleaner and more advanced is because the time of the Republic was a lot more prosperous and light-toned. The original trilogy was darker and grittier because the Empire was in control, and when Palpatine took control of everything, I think that all the advanced-ness of everything was taken a couple steps back, kinda like going into a dark age. In all fairness, though, why would you condemn seeing Yoda in action? Personally, I think it would be a heavy disappointment to have six movies go by and not seeing the character creditted as the most greatest of the Jedi masters show his skills in battle. (And yeah, I think the way they had him jumping around isn't an issue; it's probably more ridiculous-looking for Dooku to bend over or something to swing his blade at him.) Quote
Jipay Posted March 9, 2005 Posted March 9, 2005 Actually Mace Windu is supposed to be the best light saber fighter ever. So im really hoping for a huge fight. I think what saw in episode II : hundreds of jedis kille dina ction is ridiculous. Real powerfull Jedis could have blown them away like small shits Quote
xwingyoda Posted March 9, 2005 Posted March 9, 2005 OK, ep 2 is a little better than ep 1, that's for sure ;) In all fairness, though, why would you condemn seeing Yoda in action? Don't get me wrong, I am a HUGE Yoda fan, and of course I don't condemn seeing him in action -far from it. It's just the way the whole scene is treated: pulling out his saber like in old Sergio Leone movies (cowboy style :-D ), and watching his face at that moment. The whole thing is just ridiculous ;) Don't worry jipay, we'll have one of the best saber duel scene with Mace in ROTS taking place in three different places. Because Samuel was cut so often (for impossibility to seriously say "may the force be with you"), he wanted to die in a fantastic way!!!! He sure will ;) Quote
yoda601 Posted March 18, 2005 Posted March 18, 2005 Oh, come on! Yoda owned! And, Jipay, there were literaly thousands upon thousands of droids, and most of the Jedi there were padawans and Knights. And the SBDs are extrmeley powerful. And I voted ROTJ. Quote
xwingyoda Posted March 18, 2005 Posted March 18, 2005 Oh, come on! Yoda owned! Pardon me Yoda601? Owned what? What do you mean here my young Yoda Padawan Learner :-D Quote
Vader Posted March 18, 2005 Posted March 18, 2005 Well i for one would of liked to see more scenes in ep 2 of mace weilding his lightsabre, what we did get was good but it could of been alot better. Quote
Jipay Posted March 18, 2005 Posted March 18, 2005 Samuel l jackson asked to GL to give him a really nice death with a lot of intense combats before it. he said that his character is supposely the best lightsaber jedi ever so it has to be great Quote
xwingyoda Posted March 18, 2005 Posted March 18, 2005 Here is a nice little article about the "Titanic in Space" http://www.cnn.com/2005/SHOWBIZ/Movies/03/...s.ap/index.html This movie will be much darker: "The intensity of the action and themes in "Revenge of the Sith" probably will earn it a PG-13 rating, Lucas said. The first five "Star Wars" movies all were rated PG." Quote
