Lundgren Posted December 30, 2013 Posted December 30, 2013 (edited) Well as some of you have seen I've recently started to build Andrea Grazi's wonderful Tow Truck. So my plan for this thread is to show all of my builds. I mostly build Model Team and studded Technic sets, but i have bought all the recent flagships in Technics and have built the 8285 Tow Turck and the 8258 Crane Truck and the 8110 Mog. I'm not really in to studless Technic yet, but hey I have only built 3 models yet and have many more i in boxes waiting to be done! ;) Well back to Grazis Truck now. This is how far I've come for now. http://www.brickshelf.com/gallery/Lundgren/Towtruck/dsc_0140.jpg Will take a pause from it now a few days to build the 8880 and the 8480. As i said i just LOVE the old Model Team sets those were my precious when i was a kid (31 years now). Now my 4 year old son likes to play with them (with my supervision) ;) http://www.brickshelf.com/gallery/Lundgren/ModelTeam/dsc_0106.jpg http://www.brickshelf.com/gallery/Lundgren/ModelTeam/dsc_0110.jpg As you can see there is some MOC's here to. if anyone is interested I can take som pics of them!? This is mo mog for now, have bought RC stuff to convert it (will be done some time in the future when i have some sparetime leftover!) :D http://i1186.photobucket.com/albums/z363/rlundgren/0AAC38EB-24AD-4F44-9EDE-67E84A232A7B_zpszfqdx005.jpg This is my Crane Truck with double rear wheels and a steerable 5th axle http://i1186.photobucket.com/albums/z363/rlundgren/1A25F8B3-C5BA-49B6-AAE2-5409F1C09B05-2761-000004A50DA5DE73_zpsb2e01b43.jpg http://i1186.photobucket.com/albums/z363/rlundgren/B1FB52F1-B291-44D4-AF51-C0C70D67595B-2761-000004A4E5860174_zpsdad6dddd.jpg And with the flatbed on. http://i1186.photobucket.com/albums/z363/rlundgren/FCC753AD-22E6-4A08-98A2-99E28BE539C5-208-00000012C66FFD69_zps155ea032.jpg Edited January 3, 2014 by Brickdoctor Converted oversized embedded pictures into links. Lakop Posted December 30, 2013 Posted December 30, 2013 Model team never appealed to me at the time but I can see now why people like them. The model team style is making a bit of a comeback via this forum and it's good to see. I like your crane truck. H Quote

The model team style is making a bit of a comeback via this forum and it's good to see. And we can thank Lasse D for pushing modern model team forward. Well his models push themselves. I think some Sariels builds can be thought of as model team too, as they have mechanics but use a detailed, studded outer shell. Quote
Doc_Brown Posted December 31, 2013 Posted December 31, 2013 Wow, thats a lot of studded! I'm looking forward to reading more on this. Quote
Lundgren Posted December 31, 2013 Author Posted December 31, 2013 @ Horace T, thanks! It's my first sort of moc/mod with the "new" kind of Legos. Well the double rear wheels mod is designer Han's but the extension and the 5'th axle is all mine. Everything works on it as intended! Next step will be another bigger crane and rc'fying it! ;) @ Doc, this is only the Model Team sets I have built right now, I have lots and lots of 80's technic sets. When I get time I will try to build them all and take some photos of them. Let's just say I was Lego crazy 20 years ago and it hasn't let go yet! ;) Quote

Lundgren Posted January 2, 2014 Author Posted January 2, 2014 The Grazi Tow Truck is coming along nicely! :D If anyone is interested of building progress ihave got my self a brickshelf account and uploaded some better quality photos of the build there! http://www.brickshelf.com/cgi-bin/gallery.cgi?m=Lundgren Quote
Paul B Technic Posted January 2, 2014 Posted January 2, 2014 Those model team sets look really good. Quote
Lundgren Posted January 2, 2014 Author Posted January 2, 2014 Thanks Paul, I love them as I said. Too bad Lego doesn't produce sets like these anymore! :( (well there are some Creator sets but that's not the same) Anyway, didn't find the time to build my 8880 so I just did a little more on "The Tow Truck" Quote
Brickdoctor Posted January 3, 2014 Posted January 3, 2014 Please note that EB's size limit for embedded pictures is 1,024x768px, as described in the Member Guidelines here. I've converted some of your pictures into links. Thanks! Quote
Lasse D Posted January 4, 2014 Posted January 4, 2014 That's a great collection of Model Team vehicles. I'm looking forward to see the tow truck together with the rest of them. Quote
Lundgren Posted January 4, 2014 Author Posted January 4, 2014 Sorry Brickdoc, I thought the forum resized them. Now I know it doesn't! But my pics from photobucket is OK sized? (Just bad quality!) Thanks Lasse D, yes I'm looking forward to it too but now I'm "out of parts" to go on with it so today I took out a goodie to start with! :) Quote
Lost_In_Noise Posted January 5, 2014 Posted January 5, 2014 If you want to batch resize pictures, I recommend Ezthumbs, freely availible here. Thanks for showing your work, I flipped through your folder also, seems like you have a lot of fun:) Quote
Lundgren Posted January 5, 2014 Author Posted January 5, 2014 Thanks for the tip Noise! Will try it so I can post pics in this thread! We'll lets just say I enjoy the fun things in life! ;) Quote
Lundgren Posted January 5, 2014 Author Posted January 5, 2014 Finished the 8880 this morning, so now it's playtime! Here you ca see the size of Grazi's Tow Truck! Quote
Gee Posted January 5, 2014 Posted January 5, 2014 Nice to see 8880 next to 8865. I've never owned 8880 but have had 8865 since I was a lad. Seems your kids like to do what mine do - wait 'til I've finished building and then play with the finished product! Sometimes I don't even get a look in! Quote
Kumbbl Posted January 6, 2014 Posted January 6, 2014 Finished the 8880 this morning, so now it's playtime cute... if you are interested in some MODs , e.g. moveable seats, for this epic set (8880), then take a look here: http://www.eurobricks.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=79397 And here you can found additional MODS for 1) a selector between AWD and RWD and 2) a two mode AWS (all wheel steering): http://www.eurobricks.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=80878&hl=8880 Both features are operated from the console between the seats... 2LegoOrNot2Lego... Posted January 18, 2014 Posted January 18, 2014 How is the US Truck T2 MkII build going? Just wondering how your color scheme will work out! Quote
Lundgren Posted January 20, 2014 Author Posted January 20, 2014 Hi Ingmar! Sorry to say that I haven't even started the build. :( (Have had so much other things that have come in my way) The Lego things i've done since my latest update in this thread is, a mod to 8043 to make it a little more "playable" (easier to move things than dig on a hard floor) Then I've built the 8466 Offroad car. pretty cool actually :) And beacuse it's JFAIR i've built some Lego "flying" stuff ;) I specially liked the Creator set 4403, I've said that it's a shame the TLG doesn't produce Model Team anymore but actually the do! :D If you have built this helicopter you know what I mean! ;) (well the Heli from the 5590 set I've built before) Quote
peter_m Posted January 20, 2014 Posted January 20, 2014 I've said that it's a shame the TLG doesn't produce Model Team anymore but actually the do! :D You should get yourself VW Camper (10220) - if only TLG had added steering then it could be a perfect Model Team model. But still - it is one of the most beautiful vehicles designed by Lego. Quote
Lundgren Posted January 20, 2014 Author Posted January 20, 2014 Yes I'm actually looking out for it (10220) but I haven't found anyone with box for a "reasonable" price! :( Quote
Lundgren Posted January 23, 2014 Author Posted January 23, 2014 This morning i "found" some spare time to build a little so I started with the famous US Truck TII from Ingmar. I'm changing the color scheme as you can see. More to come! Quote
Junpei Posted January 23, 2014 Posted January 23, 2014 Good progress there! I'm eager to see what his model looks like with the new color scheme. I have the exact same rubber bands as you TLH Quote
Lundgren Posted March 21, 2014 Author Posted March 21, 2014 Sorry to say that i havn't managed to get the time to finish my build of Ingmars great truck in red and black yet! :( But i have ordered every part for the T1 truck now so when i get the time i will build that first. (today i got myself some gifts) ;) Actually my first 5550 but it's my 5'th 5580 and my 4'th 5590 I realized that i haven't shown any of my mocs here so here are some of them. Sorry for the blurry pics :( These were the only I could find! Quote
Lundgren Posted April 2, 2014 Author Posted April 2, 2014 I don't want to spam Ingmars thread more than I've done so here are some comparision with Andrea Grazis Tow Truck 8258 and 8285 (The crane truck is a little bigger than original) And 5580 Quote
