natelite Posted April 16, 2007 Posted April 16, 2007 Well, not exactly topic related but there was an article in newsweek earlier this month on lego. It's quite informative as to how they view their market. The european market they think is matured as they have saturated the market with their products (about 13% of toys sold each year is a lego). The US is only about 3-5%. So they feel the us market is still able to absorb a lot more lego. This may be why the prices in the us is cheaper than the EU. Most likely they feel the EU market is matured so it's time to start milking the cash cow. While the us market is still in growth stage so it would be best to price more competitively to build market share. :-P Anyway, sucks to be EU. ;-) Quote

Piranha Posted April 17, 2007 Author Posted April 17, 2007 Thankz for all the replies, but anyway $50 for the tie crawler is way overpriced. Sometime ago I called Lego asking if they sell the minifigs only without the set and if so how much do they cost.Their response was "Due to the strict liscensing with Lucas arts we can not sell them individually" and the price for creating a minifig I think was $5 each. Anyway it must be all those technic link treads and the new figures X-D . :'-( $100 for Switzerland!! and I'm complaining :-D Quote
Scouty Posted April 17, 2007 Posted April 17, 2007 Wooie, they better add something inside that cockpit!!! Fortunately, we have Bricklink to get individual figs, but these babies are going to be over priced...Oh No! Quote
