Milan Posted December 29, 2013 Posted December 29, 2013 In a few weeks, I should move my LEGO collection, drawers, boxes etc to a new room, and I want to set up a new table there. Table will be used for MOCing, sorting parts and used just for LEGO building, So...what color of the table is the best for LEGO building? Until now, I used my brown computer table and covered it with white sheets, and it was ok, but I want to hear from you guys. Quote
62Bricks Posted December 29, 2013 Posted December 29, 2013 Mine is white formica, which I like for sorting because the colors stand out in greater contrast. It's especially good for small trans parts like 1x1 dots which I have a hard time with. The smooth surface is also great for sorting, although for building it is also nice to have a fabric surface to keep parts from rolling or sliding away. My girlfriend makes jewelry with beads, and beaders have a great idea - they use a square of felt where they sort the beads. The felt keeps them from moving around. Quote
Paperballpark Posted December 29, 2013 Posted December 29, 2013 Definitely plain white. You can see every colour clearly on it, even white and clear! Quote
splatman Posted December 30, 2013 Posted December 30, 2013 Yup, white is right. Otherwise, a light speckled color would make bricks stand out, since there's no speckled bricks, save for a vanishingly few decorated ones. If shopping for a table, take along some bricks of various solid and trans colors and shapes, so you can 'try before you buy'. Same goes for fabric, and any materials, if you are going to build your own table. Quote
legolijntje Posted December 30, 2013 Posted December 30, 2013 Mine is white. As stated above, you can see everything very good. Quote
